I can understand that governments were caught cold early 2020.Mustn't feed the troll, mustn't feed the tr... Gah!
But you don't ignore it, do you? You keep pushing your dim-witted, early-2020 take in the face of all evidence.
Look, I get it. The last two years have been a massive buzzkill. No one's had a good time (to put it mildly) and frequently, things we thought we knew turned out not to be the case. An intellectually honest person would admit that this pandemic was beyond anyone's snap judgement and would do their best to react to the situation as it develops.
It's OK to not be immediately right - everyone makes mistakes. What annoys people (OK - what annoys me) is when you refuse to admit that your initial take was arbitrary and then go on to pretend that you don't care about something that you're clearly very invested in.
I do like your food posts.
But the big mistake was to go in panic mode, spreading fear, and globally looking completely outwitted. I speak about Western "developped" countries, the developping countries having for most of them handled it much better.
I dont attach any importance to "covid death" numbers anounced by governments and government controlled media.
The ONLY reliable indicator is the "excess deaths" 2020/2021/2022 compared to the average of the 3 to 5 previous years.
Am on my phone, so not easy to dig up and insert charts.
Another thing to be studied is who are those excess deaths !
A majority of old people, the death rate in care houses or old people centers was horrendous. Sadly, logicly explained by the fact that if you concentrate old, vulnerable persons in one location when the virus enters it will be catastrophic.
But you will notice, that there is very little data or media reporting on that subject.
Next point we need to ask ourself is why we (the West) have such a huge number of people with problems like obesity or diabetes. Sure the "modern" livestyle and fast food mania bears a huge responsability.
You will note that the Covid death rate in Africa is much lower than in the West.
Younger, healthier population is probably the main explanation.
Thanks for the compliment on my food posts !
