As vice president, Gibran becomes President if ill health forced Prabowo out of office. Maybe Prabowo will live into his 90s but he has previously had a stroke, is seriously overweight and has a limp which seems to be getting worse."......Jokowi has given him the ultimate gift of votes he could never have got otherwise, but what does he get in return?...."
Did he predict that Prabowo would barely be able to walk to the podium for the inauguration?
Perhaps he needs a better pair of shoes.![]()
The World Bank provides loans, credits, guarantees and technical assistance to developing countries and countries in transition. The aim is to combat poverty and distribute prosperity. With Prabowo as president, I doubt Indonesia can lend money now easy on the money market. Maybe Indonesia can turn to China or Russia? Investors will also stay away, I guess.
We will see the effects of Pranowo being president on the "Rupiah's strength" and Indonesia's economy in the next 1 or 2 years.
Such a BS analysis. Erwinda should write in the cooking&receipes section.ERWIDA MAULIA, Nikkei Asia

The rupiah has lost 4% in the past month amid concerns over the domestic political situation in the aftermath of the presidential election on Feb. 14. Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto, who is widely expected to continue President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo's policies, won the election.
But his rivals have both filed challenges over the result, alleging interference and unfair practices by Jokowi, and urging that the vote be rerun. The fact that Indonesia's respected finance minister, Sri Mulyani Indrawati, is not expected to join Prabowo's cabinet also has worried investors, in addition to concerns over Prabowo's plans for expensive government programs, such as free lunches and milk for schoolchildren nationwide.
What specifically is there about the analysis with which you take issue?Such a BS analysis. Erwinda should write in cooking&receipes section.
Drop of the rupiah against USD is not happening "amid concern over domestical political situation". It is mainly caused by external factors, helped by the structural weakness of the Indonesian economy and wrong economical policies for long time. What specifically is there about the analysis with which you take issue?
