Of course they aren't exact but it's the optics that come into play when there are similarities that go unpunished. Another example, Trump withheld aid that had already been approved and was impeached. Biden again does something very similar and crickets. Surely I'm not the only person in the world to notice these discrepancies and they play right into Trump's rhetoric. Once or twice is one thing but once you have a string of events, it's not as easy to overlook. Like somone else in this post stated already, Trump APPEARS to be treated differently than the others in similar situations and that is exactly how he wants it. Take that away from him by treating everyone the same.

For me, I dont really care about any of the cases against Trump. The only one that truly alarms me is the stuff he and his cronies did around Jan 6th. They tried to overturn the election and if he gets back in - they will set everything up so that they will be successful in any future attempts.
The election process of the USA basically fell on the shoulders of Mike Pence on that day. We won't be lucky enough to have that a second time.

Anyone conflating his actions with any of the other presidents ("sure aren't they all corrupt")...I am not aware of any other president in the history of the country trying to overturn an election in the past? He is completely unelectable for this one reason and I'm absolutely appalled the republicans have rolled over for him.

So the takeaway from what I read from news and in this thread. No one is clean, but Trump has really been a special kind of idiot who likes to be seen as a martyr by his voters and followers. Apparently, compared to some others, he just overdid it with his BS and "the establishment being against him" can't really count as any excuse.

The point was that whateverJan 6th was, it was piss poor attempt with even less revelence than any other "coup" attempt that I have ever heard of. If that was a legit attempt, nobody has anything to worry about in the future. I was no Night of the Long Knives and everb worse than any that Thailand has succeded with.

In all fairness Hunter fits the exact mold for someone being able to use him and/or his father for leverage one way or another. He is on every intelligence watch list in the world and righfully so. It's almost like the text book was written with him in mind. What would Joe do for his son? He already buried the stories on his diary weeks before the election and basically told the media that it was Russian disinformation and not to publish any stories on it. He even got 50 or signatures from the intelligence community to go along with the story. Joe has been handled with kid gloves for far too long, Saying something negative about him is like saying something to criticize Isreal in the US Media. It's a bridge too far and that needs to stop.
