Iam more concerned about the idea of a Ukraine joining NATO, then we finally would have the fully fleshed out war that some people seem so eager to have. That's why I also wonder why people would support anyone who wants this
Anyway, no one will ask us. Someone will just decide it for us. World War 3 or not.
At least with Trump it will be a lot less likely to have Ukraine joining NATO or getting further military help. At one point we just gotta be realistic. What is worse for Ukraine? Getting more and more destroyed daily, having more dead soldiers and civilians or agree to whatever Russia suggest in a peace treaty. Despite some people who are afraid that Putin wants to take over all of Europe and then the whole world and probably become Thanos, the mightiest dude in the universe, I don't really see that. By now a peace treaty under whatever conditions would be the better choice.

Sorry for the little bit derailing. To get back to the topic, poor America. Having to choose between these two, but again and again how did it even come to this.

The debate may or may not have changed the way some people will vote but Biden's appearance certainly will. Unless Biden changes his mind and does step aside then I fear we are stuck with Trump. Trump is now looking so happy and confident and the court ruling that presidents may be above prosecution for steps taken acting as president seems to have lifted his whole demeanor.

Just read about Biden's interview with the American Broadcasting Company's George Stephanopoulos with Biden shrugging off his debate performance as just having a "bad night." Which raises the question, what happens if there is a major crisis and Biden is having another bad night?

Jill stands in with the top advisors. Edith Wilson did the same a hundred years ago. The 25th Amendment was created for such situations but nobody got around to codifying how to implement it.

Overthrowing Khadafi was for what again? To keep Libya's oil sales in USD? If so then maybe it wasn't a failure.
What were the aims in Iraq and Syria? If they were to get some oil and weaken someone's best friend's potential adversaries then they weren't failures.

What we see in France with Le Pen now is also interesting, the "peaceful" protests of the left. In all those years I never saw such "peaceful" protests from the right, when the usual suspects won.

Many countries around the globe, are deeply divided, especially in the west. And again, that is NOT ONLY the fault of Trump or the repuplicans alone, same as it isn't only the fault of the right wing parties in other countries. Their voters didn't magically fall from the sky, well at least I hope so. Another pie in the sky, no one will save us.
It's the result of decade long bullshit and now we only have the choice between bullshit and more bullshit.

If the attempts to destroy democracy and install a Trump dictatorship are considered official acts, pretty much everything else he does will be immune from the law.

I dislike him as I believe he's as corrupt as he is incompetent, but him running is likely to let Trump in.
Trump will cause even greater chaos than brain dead Biden could ever manage.

As I see it, a weak minded idiot can be manipulated into keeping the world stable, but a wannabe dictator who thinks he's right all the time is much harder to control.
We have one at work. A Filipino who is totally clueless, poorly read, and has absolutely no idea of the real world situation, but he tries to force his opinions on everyone. That includes those who are well educated and very experienced.
He can be controlled as he has only the power of annoyance to work with, but a dangerous US president is going to be much harder to rein in.

Biden wants the cash and power, but running will very likely cause the world a lot of problems if his stupidity allows Trump to win. It will be even worse for America.

The supreme court has the last word, and their ruling has empowered Trump into attempts getting some of the charges against him dropped.
Given the court's ruling about the Jan 6 rioters, there's a good chance they'll let him off the hook for almost anything if he wins this time.

I would disagree. He alienated a lot of foreign leaders to the point they realised they could defy the United States with impunity.

Not so sure that it’s Biden’s war. Yes, Trump most probably would have rolled over as an obedient puppy and the war could have been over, but concluding that it is on Biden is possibiliter ergo probabiliter.

I think for many countries, the Gaza conflict and support for Israel is much more of a turn off. Is Indonesia really so interested in the situation in Ukraine? And India is a huge customer for military material from Russia, and they benefit from the conflict to get cheap oil and gas of course.
