Just being cynical.
When I see comments in French on Youtube I am often shocked by the number of grammatical errors.
In English it tends to be much better as the language is easier (no male/female words, no accents, no complex verb conjugation)

I found out the other day that since the overall global IQ is dropping and Mensa bases admission on being in the top 2 percent, people will now be accepted that would have not been accepted in the recent past. A very minor thing is the grand scheme of things but how long will this trend continue until we literally become like the movie Idiocracy?

I found out the other day that since the overall global IQ is dropping and Mensa bases admission on being in the top 2 percent, people will now be accepted that would have not been accepted in the recent past. A very minor thing is the grand scheme of things but how long will this trend continue until we literally become like the movie Idiocracy?

Nowadays, reasonable number of pupils, students, go to prestigious schools, universities even they do not have enough intelligent to compete at the university level but they still get admitted.

Just look at in Indonesia alone. Admission into top-tier state universities was once a very prestigious achievement reserved for the top less than 5% of entrance exam scorers. Today, however, the expansion of the "money route" allows almost anyone who can afford to pay to secure a spot will be accepted, with these fee-paying students now vastly outnumbering those admitted on pure merit via entrance examination.

As an illustration, the parents of one student might need to pay more than half billion rupiahs to secure a place in most popular course such is medicine. Because these funds go directly to the university account to be managed internally and potentially misused, the institutions have a strong incentive to keep expanding this "money route". Keep in mind these are 'state universities', not private universities; most of their investment are already funded by the states, the lecturers and admin staffs are mostly civil servants, paid by the state (tax payers). Ultimately, these are the institutions, intended to train the nation’s best future doctors, dentists, nurses, engineers, teachers, lecturers, accountants, etc. You might meet some of these "money route" graduates as the doctor's, nurses who will treat you in the hospitals.

I have post similar post for the recruitment in the police force. Ordinary people, small street vendors will need to pay more than Rp100m for their children to be admitted.

I think the government in many parts of the world, but particularly the US, has already gotten to Idiocracy levels. As an American it certainly makes me sad.

When I passed the mensa exam it was 170+ I think. I didn't want to join I just wanted to see if I could pass the exam!
