If you do find something like this in a brick & mortar store, clearly it would be old unsold inventory, and presumably you would be negotiating with a reasonably motivated seller, keen to clear dated stock.

Thanks for the link. That's exactly what I want.

I contacted 2 sellers listed on Tokopedia as selling that model. Unfortunately both sellers replied "stok habis. kosong kak".

I'm losing hope. It seems we are all locked in to the android, "smart TV" google world and have no choice but to buy tvs with super "ultra" 4K screens that are useless in Indonesia.
 
You might want to try any hole in the wall kind of little mom & pop stores in your area,
the kind that would be less likely to have set up on Tokopedia or try Shoppee.

You no doubt noticed that the price on that HD set was more than lots of the current 4K models with all the bells & whistles. Once you cross the 43" threshld the prices jump appreciably.
 
Any made for Netflix content is filmed in 4K.
The Premium Family Plan also displays in 4K, unlike the slightly cheaper
packages used by people on their phones.
BliBli is another online one to try...you don't need lots of them, right?
There is probably one lurking around somewhere, albeit like looking for hen's teeth.
OR you could advertise and look for an old "low mileage" single owner model?
 
@ukcouple - I understand not wanting to pay for features you will not use, but if the ones with extra features are actually cheaper, what's the problem? Get an Android 4K TV, turn off any upscaling options in the menus, send it a 1080p signal from your computer, and just use it as a 1080p monitor. You can ignore the Android stuff, and sending it a 1080p signal will look very good since it's directly scaled from 1 pixel to 4 pixels.
 
And that's what I'll probably end up doing. !!
It's about 8 years since I was last out shopping for a new TV (I actually consider it to be a 55 inch computer monitor since I never use the TV bit)
If I remember correctly, 8 years ago 4K Smart TVs were the exception not the rule and the simple LG Full HD LCD model I bought lasted until recently when a power surge did it in.
Those simple models are nowhere in stock now. I've tried lots of places. Always the same Stok kosong.

Maybe you can find someone selling a tube TV. Pre-remote control model, obviously. :)

In July I contacted a recommended store in Denpasar to buy a Sony 43". Was told the latest model would be available first week in August and pay a deposit to secure one. Then it was going to be the following week but no guarantees about when. Opted for the previous model at nearly 2 jt less but then that had to come from Jakarta with successive unfufilled promises of delivery. Finally had the earlier model delivered and installed yesterday with still no sight of the new model.

I suppose it relates to Covid and the the Russian oil supply disruptions. Previous 5 year old LG TV just got darker and darker despite tweaking all the settings. Never mind, have a new bright TV in time to watch Richmond win the Aussie rules football premiership.

You'd be surprised what a demand there is for this retro stuff.

I recently bought a load of old fashioned (and old stock) incandescent light bulbs. (not available in "right on" europe.) Energy inefficient but the candescence is wonderful. So much nicer than the LED ones.
 
Actually if you are going to use if for a computer monitor and your computer is strong enough to drive a 4k signal, the 4k monitor is much sharper than 1080 and would make a far superior monitor.

Fine but how would I know if my computer is strong enough to drive a 4k monitor before buying the monitor.?

If it was made within the last 5 to 7 years it will probably have enough graphics power unless it was a budget unit. What are the CPU and graphics card models? You want to be able to do 4K at least 60hz for a monitor.

I have a mini PC that sits next to the TV set.
It worked fine with my LG Full HD TV 1080p (until the TV burned out after the power cut.)
Don't know about 4k though. The PC is definately budget, cost less than 3 juta new but perfect for my uses which is MS Office Excel, Word etc, media and browsing .
The processor is Intel Celeron J4125 with integrated graphics. 8gb ram.

Edit:
I just now checked the specs and my Mini PC is touted to be able to output 4k at 60hz. That surprised me.

Looks like it will do 4K at 60 hz from the specs here, but only on the display port. It looks like 4 k is limited to 30 hz on the HDMI port. https://ark.intel.com/content/www/i...-processor-j4125-4m-cache-up-to-2-70-ghz.html

According to the spec page, it should be good.

I once used a TV LG 32" with HDMI as second monitor extension to my laptop during the early WFH pandemic.
Disappointed, 1080 resolution is not big issue but very uncomfortable to view - eyes getting tired quickly.
Change to LG 32UL500-W 31.5 Inch UHD (3840 x 2160) monitor - much better, very convenient, more productive to me.
