Quarantine back to 7 days starting December

I noticed they were giving people coming in on a tourist visa a hard time, asking them what they were doing etc. They were taking 10 minutes per person at passport control. As a KITAP holder they didn't ask me about insurance, but for tourists I'm not sure.

There seemed to be plenty of people in front of me bound for Bali on 'business trips'. They were at the counter for ages. Once they saw my KITAP, no questions asked and through in no time.

We arrived at 1pm

I am hoping it will be a bit quicker when I arrive closer to midnight.

Ah, that would make sense! Thanks - I can stop worrying about it. I leave today but will be coming back on Jan 1st.

Some airlines might help cover anything covid related. JAL says they will do something in case something happens.

If you arrive closer to midnight and then get stuck at the airport waiting for your pcr result, wont that end up with you checking in to the hotel after midnight, thus extending your quarantine by one full day (as its calculated by number of midnights)?

If you paid for a 9 night package, then I don't think the hotel will let you stay 10 nights. I'm sure people will be pragmatic (same if the flight is delayed a few hours).

I know someone whose flight was delayed and they arrived just after the change from 2 days to 7 days. Their booking was 2 nights but was automatically extended to 7.

Pragmatic unfortunately doesnt work against rules.

You must ask, "pragmatic for who?"

I think it generally is pragmatic for the hotels to hold you additional night(s) at the high quarantine rates.

This is from Indonesian Government. If anyone of you know how to register to be honourable or distinguish person, please let me know. Seems this type of people will not spread any germ/virus. Bebas karantina!

Are they actually banned? Or are kitas/kitap holders still allowed entry but with the longer 14 days quarantine?
SATGAS SE Nomor 25 does not distinguish between foreigner with/without KITAS/P.
  • No entry for any foreigner with travel history in countries on the "red list" (Nr. F.2.)
  • WNI can still enter but subject to 14 days quarantine (same as virtually all countries, own citizens can return). (Nr. F.4.f.)

In my opinion they are likely to revise this with one of the next revisions and include some exemptions for existing KITAS/P holders (probably not for new TKA entering on VITAS).

The way I read it, ‘honorable’ is related to social, political or religious influence, while ‘distinguished’ is related to economic or academic accomplishments. A “tokoh masyarakat” would be deemed honorable, while a celebrity would be distinguished.

In short, if you’re nobody, you get quarantined.

Pelaku perjalanan orang terhormat in the language of the SatGas Penangan covid are former president or chief of governement of foreign countries, while Pelaku perjalanan orang terpandang are people who have a high social or economical importance on the international scene like for example Nobel prize winners, top ranking religious leader, Head of major international economic organization...etc

Looks like quarantine is likely to go up to 14 days soon, for (almost) everyone.

It's a bit worrying that they seem to be aiming for zero Omicron, which is not very likely to be achieved. Bali will be stuffed. Haven't heard much from Mr Uno recently.

Exactly, they are better off preparing for the wave and getting it over with as soon as possible IMO.
