Perhaps, A Ray Of Light For Indonesia's Future

That's a very thoughtful article she wrote, I don't see any controversial or provoking statement actually, don't understand why those people got mad at her. Religion is never been the issue, it's the human.

For me, this ray of sunshine could just be that which is breaking through a crack in the door. If that door is opened, sunshine would fill the room. All that needs to be done is for that door to be opened. It is a mighty large and heavy door that has a lot of trash laying around it and blocking it's movement. To move this mighty door it will take more then one or two. Three or four can't even do it. The trash is in the millions piled up around it's base. It will not require millions to move it. It will require thousands to start it's movement and when it starts, millions will join in and swing that door open wide. The trash will scatter and no longer be a hinderance.

But, where shall these movers of the door come from? The locals would like to clean up the trash but the trash is dangerous and can cause injury to them so they stand back and say I can't. They meet in groups and say, I can't. They mass for a common good and say, I can't. They don't seem to get the message that while I can't, We can. But how? It is dangerous.

How is already in their minds and bodies but they don't realize it. All they need to do is pick up a pen or access a keyboard and put their thoughts to the written word. Then let it free for all. The Trash will complain but with only writers in the thousands, the trash will be overcome. The trash gets confused as it is not accustomed to opposition. The power to open that door and let the sushime stream in is in the pen. Those are the weapons that need to used for this fight.

He will be in jail like Basir. If citizen cause caos to the hole nation and interrupt the balance of community among races/believe then it is a just thing to do to this man. Death is better so not to spoil the country that known to be down to earth most of them.

That's a nice analogy you wrote fastpitch17, reminds me of something written on my notebook cover: "the pen is mightier than the sword".
Maybe the 'trash' has become a culture which has been built for centuries. There are social norms in it, bureaucracy, political interests, etc, and need more than a few people to pick up the pen. And before the action is executed, the safety of people around us should be considered too.
Maybe at the end it's a personal choice, if they don't want to stay in the trashy place then they better get out to see and feel the sunshine somewhere else.

The safety of the people? Just another Indonesian excuse. If people started using their strength instead of excuses change for the better would come. If thousands took to the pen the radicals would be over powered. If people were to attack the climate of hate while not naming names there could be results. Harmony over hatred.

Of course, it won't happen. There are just too many excuses the majority of Indonesians can use to hide behind. When negativity takes over, they will whine and ask why someone else didn't do something about it. There is a saying around here and I understand in many places, if there is trouble brewing in the Islamic Indonesia, seek out the Batak, Dyak, or Balinese. They will protect others from it. All others can not be trusted. Especially most Javanese who prove time and time again they are spineless to act even for their own benefit.

Maybe it sounds like an excuse, to me it's being considerate. It's ironic to think that our action is unselfish but actually it can potentially harmful to those people around us like family or friends. Yes I've written something and it turned ugly. Now I won't stop but let me read what you have written, maybe your writing is better. Didn't you say we need more of this bravery?

I write constantly in replies to media articles both in English and not. Many foreigners do. That is the problem, foreigners seem to take the lead but their words mean nothing. They are not allowed to become politically active. It is up to the citizens if they want to be heard. If they stand for anything besides weakness. Why if your a citizen of Indonesia would you even want foreigners to take up your cause? You say you are being considerate. To whom? The only people you are being considerate to are the ones that want to tear this nation apart. You want to be so considerate why not just head to the airport when Rizieq returns and wave your hands in the air and welcome the most blessed one home. Same thing.

Don't worry, I understand. You have a thousand excuses and reasons for not protecting your nation. Sit back, watch a kitty on youtube, send some SMSs, have a coffee, ignore the world around you. It can't affect you.
