Northern France, advice

Thank you for the suggestions. Here is the list of places and attractions we visited over the course of two weeks. Unfortunately, our very limited time and the extremely hot weather made it difficult for us—being no longer young—to fully enjoy the experience.
Places not on the list that became our favorites—especially my wife's—were Carrefour, Lidl, and Supermarché. We initially intended only to cool off and buy cold drinks, but always ended up shopping for other things as well.

I hope you had a good time even with the heat. But personally I think there’s too much cramped in there. (Bit like those American or Chinese tourists who do Europe in 10 days.) Especially when not so young anymore you don’t want to run and hurry from one place to the other.

We always like to do grocery shopping while abroad, a Carrefour is incomparable with the TransMart in Indonesia, just like a Delhaize and SuperIndo/Food Hall or Aldi/Lidl and O!Save. And a LIDL is not even the same between France, Belgium and the Netherlands. Danger is just buying too much.

Yeh that seems a lot for just a couple of weeks for an old grumpy git like you. But as long as the Mrs was happy and you got a day of your choices then it's all good

Edit. Maaf sorry i was thinking it was Le frog 🐸 dari Bali who did the trip.

Despite the scorching weather, the trip wasn't overly hectic. We planned the route carefully—heading north, west, and south before returning north—covering a total distance of just 2,000 km. We drove only 100 to 300 km a day; for France, that is neither a vast distance nor a long time to spend on the road. We even visited some locations during the long, bright evenings.
We have visited places ranging from -40°C to 45°C before, but this trip felt more exhausting.
It is true that our physical stamina has declined. I need to improve it for the next more challenging trip.

Driving in France is enjoyable; it’s not tiring at all. Last week, we had to attend a wedding in Tanah Lot; it took over four hours to cover a distance of less than 90 km from Amlapura—passing through Canggu—and the traffic was absolutely chaotic. Never again.

I'm actually looking forward to retirement so I don't have to travel any more.

Ya, in my last job before I decided to retire (very) early, I did often 5 countries in one week. Leave on Sunday evening, back on Friday night. And everyone thought that must have been so cool. Yep, hotel rooms, meetings and business lunches, didn’t see a lot of those countries and cities.

I know the feeling did many years on tour with A list pop stars and groups. Oh wow so glamorous etc etc lol yeh except you literally go from airport to hotel to venue to hotel to airport to next country without even getting to leave the hotel or go to the after party or even walk down the street. Took 3rd visit to China to see the above average wall. In Macau we got a huge suite each in Venetian but didn't even unpack. Landed at 5. Show was 10. After the show we went straight to airport to fly to Kazakhstan. Such is life
