I started my naturalisation process in November, putting in my application for SKM with immigration. However as I did not make the payment till 30 days in (as I did not know it was due up front till the phoned me on the last possible day) so the process was not started until December. At the time I understood the fees for SKM & Spouse Naturalisation to total Rp5.5 juta. As I recall that was 3 juta to immigration for the SKM and then 2.5 juta for the naturalisation. However I just read that the fee has gone up to 15 juta. Being in Lombok where we are very light on business since the earthquakes this increase is massive for me, so I need to confirm if this is fact and if so is it the SKM fee or the later fee, which I have not yet paid. I don't know where I can find 15 juta so may have to suspend or stop the whole process. If I do what happens then? :(

Thanks for any input and advice.

BUT, is that the fee for processes starting after the date of the increase?
Or is it increased irrespective of when the process was started?

To me as a consumer, Imagem's "contract" was to buy something at a published fee- so that should be honoured or a refund given as she entered into it before the price hike.

Hi Imagem. The train have left for th 2.5Juta. I think I am the last one aboard it. There is no more 2.5Jt but 15Jt is in place of it. If you have paid before the date line it is still valid for 30 days if not mistaken. But by registering only with out paying as good as you are not paying. Because if the voucher not paid only valid if not mistaken 1 week. The SKIM only last as you KITAP still "a live". If you can try to continue your process if not the 3juta is gone along your difficult time getting to that point. Myself I have gone many hurdle to get till the document is complete with a nagging issue lump on the horizon if the process will exceed my expire date of KITAP this July. I have track others want to be WNI who process date from 20 days to over it(UU indicate 10days). I also like to advice anyone who have register to be vigilant. Need 3-4 days check back your dashboard to see if notice of reject or getting SK is here. Because no one from AHU will ever call/inform you of it. I notice one person only because his photo is not scan properly it was reject and I think he did not aware of it.

Yesterday(15-Jun-2019) I receive a letter from AHU dated 31-May-2019 which in short the Director of Tata Negara which handle naturalization stated that due to I register online after 3rd of May he only can process my document after I paid the Rp15jt. So in the end they just ignore that on 1st of May their web system go off-line until end of 2nd may with out given any notice/reason. Even I sent email on 1st of May with the prove of the issue adjust it and approve and now they just ignore it. So a lesson learn, do not expect bureaucracy in the government will change even the president is a good guy. :wall:

I hope that you can make it through in the end, it's a shame that they're sticking you with Rp15jt because of failures in their own system.

These days, I tend to resign myself to the inevitable, but it's ironic that my Indonesian partner gets so worked up over the failings of the bureaucracy (that we've encountered), even after decades of dealing with them.

Still, I've not had it as bad as you have, so you have my commiserations :wall:

The process will go on now the only hope to lend money from the bank, by using my house certificate as collateral.

If it's any consolation, we had a similar experience with Australian immigration. My partner's visa was cancelled less than a fortnight after our wedding (in unrelated circumstances).

We had 28 days to lodge an application for a new visa, but it cost us the equivalent of Rp70jt. We also found it hard to come up with that money in four weeks, but luckily we were able to draw upon our mortgage (like DzulnSiti is considering - I hope the bank approves it for you ?). The downturn in Lombok sounds particularly challenging (I'm sure in many ways :(). These things are cyclical, like Bali immediately after the bombings (which took a while to rebound), so hopefully it will turn quickly for you.

With our visa nightmare, we were ultimately successful but the process took three years from start to finish and my partner couldn't leave Australia for 18 months during that time (i.e. couldn't re-enter without a valid visa). I did enjoy the vindictive pleasure of submitting a pile of supporting documents that was [literally] an inch thick, knowing that some bureaucrat would have that land on their desk ?.

Hopefully, in a few years time, you'll be able to look back and shake your head at the idiocy of bureaucracies (the world over). It may take longer than you'd like, but it will be worth it once you've been naturalized as an Indonesian citizen. One of the few positives that I can see for both of you is that you'll only have to do it once! :)

Hi Mitian_Indau, thanks for your kind word. I know what to expected from Indonesia goverment official. The only hope is that Indonesia in the near future will be much better for want to be WNI or Indonesian people. Hope fully by this week my loan will be approve.

Sorry I have not been back on for a while. Borrowing from the bank is not possible as we already have outstanding loans on land, car and from friends. I guess I am going to have to go into immigration and speak to them about it. I was issued an unlimited KITAP in 2017 so I have 3 years left on it. If I understand DzulnSiti right, my SKM will be good for the life of that KITAP, so I can continue ith the process later but I need to confirm this. If things delay enough, in a few months, after high season, I should, hopefully be able to get the money together.
