Quick question....I am trying to find an agent to start the process of my first spouse sponsored kitas, do we get a KTP with a kitas? One agent that has responded said no. But my previous kitas from employer I got a KTP. Anyone know?

No, your agent is correct. KITAS gets SKTT, KITAP gets KTP

@bronze7: Bwah, they look rather similar and just bluff that SKTT is the 'ktp' for KITAS holders; they can't say you are wrong...what I would be more concerned about, is that the particular agent perhaps tried to sell you a solution without a Civil registration (card)?! They do that a lot, only arranging the Immigration documentation.

You have never flown anywhere?

I've flown a few times and usually either my passport is enough, or for domestic, my KITAP is enough. I've never been in situation when the person (needing my ID) needed more information.

The poster when I asked that had said they have never been asked for any ID. If appears now that they in fact have been asked and have shown it.

International flights most definitely, flying on internal flights from Balikpapan never asked, maybe as the only bule at the airport they may have known me, still they should ask, if they don't ask I don't show

I still have the temp KTP-OA paper, (and probably will forever) but, they told me that when I get a KTP card, it will be the green one with WNA on it. Maybe some day I will find out.

Same here. I not sure should I wait until the blanko arrive or reregister for the E-KTP-OA.

Yes that is what the agent was trying to do. I have found a much cheaper agent that includes all documents. I contacted 3 agents (some where mentioned here) and 1 was charging and outrageous amount, the 2nd wanted to charge extra for STM STKK, and the one I am using using was fairly reasonable and he only had 9 days to process it. I will go Friday to get my first spouse sponsored kitas.

Ah, all is revealed, I did my merp today, they sorted out my different dates problem, got my one year merp ok, but my KTP is for an Indonesian, should be brownish not blue, anyway immigration excepted that small error, my wife has gone down to the KTP office at BSD, she wants her 6month KTP to be renewed, so hopefully our friend in the office will resolve our problems

Mine expires end of this year but Kitap not for another 3 years....Oh! just realized I'll need to get the agent to do it....just hope they don't keep my passport for months like they did when I got the Kitap.
Previously the agent didn't think it necessary to have a KTP OA but I'm going to press him this time.

Davita, in the past when we had to process a new MERP & it was not compulsary it took just a couple of days submit it ,say on a Monday, pick it up on the Wednesday. So I doubt the extension will be a lengthy process.

Thanks for the info B_A...I heard it isn't as onerous as getting the visas.
I just hate it when they keep the passport and I've seen the way they handle things in Imigrasi. A passport is such a precious document and when 'out of my control' I get nervous.
When I was in the flying game, and visiting India, they used to keep our passports on arrival and returned when we departed....our airline bitched about that but I retired before it was resolved.

It was surprisingly easy, all done before they bugger off for prayers, I pick it up next Wednesday, I did want a two year MERP but as I have less than one year to the KITAP, the lady only gave me a one year MERP they didn't seem to bothered I had the wrong KTP, just said get the correct one, for some reason they wanted the name and address plus phone number and email of a relative abroad, you can do it yourself, we got to immigration by 9am and where out the door by 11am, this time also included my wife and daughter renewing their passports, which they pick up Wednesday

Regarding the KTP it was one of the items requested when I rang immigration up to confirm paperwork required

Thanks...I'll be sure to apply for the KTP before I give my passport to the agent to extend the MERP. Knowing my luck they'll delay my MERP until I have a KTP and I'm planning to leave for a holiday about that time.
