Something they did not really show on the telly, was the absurd error by Arsenal defender Gabriel who didn't realize the ball was already in play and grabbed it with his hand.

The keeper shot the ball to him and he probably interpreted that as him having to take the goal kick.

Swedish referee Glenn Nyberg explained later that he had seen it but didn’t deem it necessary to take action for such a ‘childish mistake’. Eh…

The Dutch video referee Pol van Boekel did not take any action either. Of course that really should have been a penalty.

Yes and no, I think he heard the whistle and gave it back to the GK to be retaken, no one would ever pick up the ball unless it was out of play, it would be stupid but I think there was misunderstanding from the ref also, it wasn't a GK, it was just normal kick out so Gab just threw it back to be retaken

And if they gave a pen for BM for trailing leg the the keeper did the same, but of course 2-2 93 mins the ref bottled it, Saka wouldn't dive if he can just tap into an empty net, Kane is the diver, even gets carded for it (5 in a season once!) and has been carded for his "accidental" elbow to the throat thing

Talking about Bundesliga and Premier League: ….In the latter there is much more suspense. Although I personally hope it will be MCI, I think Liverpool will make it this year.

Manchester City started the weekend as number three in the Premier League, but Pep Guardiola's team now takes the lead. City won with 5-1 against Luton Town on Saturday afternoon, after which Liverpool (0-1 against Crystal Palace) and Arsenal (0-2 against Aston Villa) both lost on Sunday.



The new star in the English football is 21 year old Cole Palmer, who is playing for Chelsea. He scored a perfect hattrick and is co-top scorer. Afterwards there was a very awkward moment with who should take a penalty; the Chelsea players almost got into a fight between themselves. Ridiculous. Chelsea is now closing in on Manchester United, whatever that’s worth.

At the age of 78, German football legend Bernd Hölzenbein passed away on Monday evening. The attacker, who ‘arranged’ a penalty kick in the 1974 World Cup final West-Germany - Netherlands (2-1) by falling over the leg of Wim Jansen, had been sick for some time.

The former player of Eintracht Frankfurt is already the third German world champion to die this year after Andreas Brehme and Franz Beckerbauer. With the death of Hölzenbein, Germany already loses its sixth world champion from 1974, after Beckenbauer (78), Gerd Müller (75), Jürgen Grabowski (77), Horst-Dieter Höttges (79) and Heinz Flohe (65).

The German magazine Bild wrote in a necrology that Hölzenbein was 'the inventor of the schwalbe' for the Dutch from that moment on. Hölzenbein himself always denied that his fall was a schwalbe.

When babies are born the options are for one of two different brains. One brain will see the babies grow into crazy and sometimes lunatic soccer supporters. The other brain, which I have, has the babies grow up and think watching grass grow is more interesting than soccer.

For me boring sports don’t really exist. (Okay perhaps golf but it’s way cooler to play than to watch.) But there are boring games.

Bit like the one which is played while we speak; if you’re not Swiss or Hungarian it’s not a very exciting game; many mistakes, wrong passes and losing the ball.

I am watching the game on my NOS app. However the connection is interrupted frequently because I use VPN.

All the games are on RCTI HD with an English commentator.

If you have a TV with DVB-T (what they all have nowadays) you should be able to receive the RCTI HD channel via the antenna. So not via First Media or so.

An alternative is the RCTI + app.
