Folks,

I just leanred that KITAP holder is either entitled but not must have KTP orang asing OR must get one done.
What is the rule on this and what would be the use of KTP orang asing anyway?

opps I missed the replies from the other thread I started about KITAP.
Looks like I need to get one

And my agent told me that it was part of the deal and he is processing the application. Sweet.

Went for my SIM (Driver's Licence) at the Satpas SIM Daan Mogot Police Centre - gleefully expecting 5 years expiration. Turns out a KITAP holder can only request a 5 year SIM if they have a KTP. I don't so got stuck with a one year renewal. FML. This infers that KTP's are not mandatory. Just my two bits.

You must be in one of those major cites. I got 5 year SIM on KITAS just because they never change the dates in the system. I'm not in one of those major cities.

I almost went to immigration jail in a non-major city when Immigrasi transitioned to plastic KITAS cards and non-full page visas. The systems seem to be getting more integrated in Jakarta all the time.

I couldn't get a plastic E-KITAS here so when I applied for KITAP I complained they were charging me for an EKITAP. They said yes, that's what I am getting. I said I wanted the paper and they said, nope, we don't do paper KITAP here.

Ha! I asked for the (more expensive) e-KITAP and got the cheaper paper one- "we don't do the plastic ones yet"

My friend got a 5 year SIM with KITAP but without KTP (his KITAP is company-sponsored), I think you could also get it if you have policeman "friend".

KiTAP and no KTP for me to get 5 yr SIM.
My KTP is in process now though. Went today to do fingerprints, eye scan and photo. How come everyone in the office has to come check out the bule photo?? Are they ordering their own copy??? hahahahaha

In all my years of KITAS I have only ever had a KTP card once - even on this present KITAS there was no KTP given

Scoot...for KITAS they give you an SKTT (Surat Keterangan Tempat Tinggal) instead. I got those when I got my KITAS for the past four years.

They don't "give " it... you gotta go to Catatan Sipil and get it. & you won't get it on a KITAS as Banana so rightly points out.

My latest plastic one looks like it was made with the cheapest possible software and machine. Blurry photo (despite the Canon EOS used to take my photo), impossibly small (reduced) signature and it seems the ink supply was about to expire, so the text is very faint.
About 20 years ago, the Manpower Ministry used to issue great quality work permit plastic cards.

I once got a plastic KTP style thing with one of my work sponsored KITAS as to why I got it I don't know, haven't had one since and when I showed it to someone they said it was the "old style KTP" that used to be issued to the locals.

KITAP was easy peasy and all done. Now comes the part i dred, dealing with DINAS Catatan Sipil here. Stopped today to ally for the KTP and KK. First response, dear in headlights look. OK, wife explained. OK, she kind of knew what we were talking about. perhaps the only KITAP owner they have seen here. Gave her some forms she wanted. As usual, wanted originals of everything but most i refuse and give them copies. I kept pulling out documents and handing them to here saying, here, you'll need this. Oh yeah she would say each time. You know, things like copies of our marriage document, my wife's KTP and KK. The normal things. Wanted my Surat Pindah from Jakarta and gave her that since it seemed to be a big deal the last time we talked to them. We asked what the cost will be. She didn't know, would need to check upstairs. My wife told her that there would be no problem as long as we received an official receipt. Sorry, no receipt she told us.

Some history with this office.
2.5 years ago when we first arrived here we went to their office to let them know and get us registered in this community. My wife was already since she had to have a B Lampung KTP so I could transfer KamIms. For me, come back when i get a new KITAS in a few months and they will do it then. OK, after getting KITAS 2 we took everything to CatSip. Everything they asked for we gave them. We asked the lady if there was anything else they needed. No, was her answer. We have everything. Went back in a week after they called and received a paper SKTT. I had given them my card SKTT from Jakarta. I asked about the card and where is my new one. We don't do those here was the reply. OK, we left.

Following year after getting KITAS 3 we went to CatSip to update everything. gave them copies of what they needed again and in a bout a week we picked up another paper SKTT. While picking it up a male officer came over to us and said that to get the SKTT there would be a charge of Rp450,000. I protested and asked where the cashier was? My wife got nervous and just paid him against my wishes. On the way out, this same officer came up to us and told us that I would need to get the SKTT Card next time but in order to get it I would need a Surat Pindah from Jakarta moving to Lampung. Geesh. OK, we go to Jakarta from time to time so this last trip we went to the DINAS in Jakarta and took care of that. Surat Pindah in hand we went to the DINAS CatSip in B Lampung today after picking up my KITAP.

OK, the girl is happy, she has all she needs. Yeah, right. Get a call later. We can't process because Jakarta didn't enter it in the system electronically. Claims she has been calling DINAS Jakarta and there is never an answer. OK, wife calls and with some miracle I guess, gets an answer right away. She explains Lampung's problem as they explained it to her. Jakarta people were very nice. They explained to my wife that everything has indeed been entered electronically and Lampung DINAS didn't know what they were talking about. OK, wife thanked them. Called Lampung DINAS, told them that Jakarta said it was already entered electronically. She saved them from the news they were stupid. Jakarta DINAS told my wife that even if it wasn't entered electronically, it could still be processed manually. My wife passed that along to Lampung. The reply to my wife was, no it can't be. It has to be electronic. OK, I told my wife we will worry about it Monday. No sense stressing over it. DINAS Lampung calls back. We need another form. A SKPOA. She mentions the little brown card. OK, where do we get that form. Jakarta she tells my wife from CatSip, JakSel. What little brown card. The SKTT Card we were issued originally in Jakarta. You have it already we told her. No, we don't, you keep that. It is in your files because the last time we were there the male officer had a copy of it and gave it to us with a note that we need a Surat Pindah. No, if you don't have that you will need it from Jakarta too. OK, good by we said.

Anyone have any idea what an SKPOA is?
