KTP Orang Asing compulsory?

Well, decided to go back to CatSip today and see what kind of problems they are going to give me even though Jakarta said all was worked out with them and they understand their errors now. After trying to call the person that we were instructed to by the young lady we normally dealt with and there being no answer numerous times and days, we decided to go there and see him.

After an hour of keeping us waiting he showed up were we were waiting. My wife asked when I could get my KTP-OA and KK now that it has been all worked out. Nope, can't do unless you bring a Surat Pindah OA from Jakarta. A document that Jakarta says they can not process because I no longer have a KITAS. We explained this again and he didn't care. He said he had a fix for it and like before he would have to break the law to do it. That was new to us and I figured the break the law stuff was code for it will cost you. I informed him that he broke the law and we had no idea he was and made no request he do so either before or this time. He told us that he could just issue a paper SKTT again and I could forego the NIK number since it is associated with Jakarta and not Bandar Lampung. Finally he admits I have a NIK Number. I replied that a SKTT was for KITAS holders and since I was a KITAP holder I would insist on following the law and that he should fix his mistakes that he won't admit to now and issue me the proper IDs. He then showed me a SKTT card of another persons and said if I got the Surat Pindah I could get one of them. I said no I can't because be it card or paper, I do not get a SKTT. We remained calm and told him that we would go without rather then have useless documents.

We left and drove to the Governor's Office. He or his deputy were not in. I didn't think they were but we were directed to an office with a lot of people sitting around. After explaining our problem one male made a phone call and spoke to the person for a bit. After hanging up he wrote the persons name down and gave to us with the information that he had spoken to this lady and that she is above the people I have been dealing with at the CatSip. He told us that she is waiting for us. We thanked them and returned to the CatSip. You can only get as far as the front window and when we asked for the lady were told there is no such person. We were told perhaps across the street at the WALIKOTA. We went there and were told no, never heard of her but the one girl knew what we were dealing with and gave us a name to see and she would take care of us. Ah, sorry, it was the same name of the old woman who managed to completely screw up our documents to begin with.

Back to the Governors office to try and find out just where this lady they gave us the name for was located. Different people now and everything had to be explained again. They know nothing. They contacted someone at CatSip and spoke to them about our problem. They wrote down the name of the man this time and told my wife he told them I could get a paper SKTT so no problem. Seems what we are trying to accomplish has reached everyone at CatSip and now it's just a gave of everyone covering everyone else's ass. So, I doubt I will ever have a KIT-OA and KK and I do not want an SKTT because really, what good is it? The only way to fix this the way Lampung wants is to go back to a KITAS and try to get things done while under that. They screwed up with their incompetence, covered their asses with more and lies to boot, expect me to fix their mistakes of which Jakarta says Lampung CatSip are the only ones who can fix it. Nothing I can do.

I got my KTP OA today- a bit of card with no photo on it, not an ektp for sure. Says its valid until my ITAP expires.
So much for the E-KTP then.

Sod em- if they want us to go thru all that again to change it to plastic- took a year (11 months) to get this thing.

Congratulations BA. Wow 11 months. I am just trying to start the whole process.

A big portion of that was our laziness to travel the miles & miles on the scooter to the damn place. Cos they turn us away for silly things- obviously they know our address. Sent hubby away to make a new police document thingy... said that the one he gave them was out of date (a month & a bit old) - hubby went back to the police- who started swearing & said to tell the guy in Catatan sipil that he would go round & kick him in the arse if he didn't stop messing around & that the document was perfectly valid... ya know- that kind of thing, some slimeball trying to screw us.
So we just don't play the games.

My wife started the process for a nice new card just like mine, as mine is made from the correct card, not like hers which is falling apart as it was made from the corrupt material, it seems a pointless exercise really, but it keeps someone in work

From mine side I have no time to go to Catatan Sipil in Bandung because each MON-FRI I am in Cikarang and on the weekend they are not open.

I wish ours was in bandung- its out at Soreang

I've been trying to convert my KTP into an E-KTP this last week here in East Jakarta. My local kelurahan told me I should head to Slipi where Jakarta's main Kantor Catatan Sipil is. However, once there they told me that I should try the East Jakarta office in Rawamangun, adding that I didn't really need to convert now and that I could wait until October 2018 when I renew my KITAP.
I thought it better to check for myself and went to Rawamangun today where they seemed to know nothing about pasal 63 and the requirement for foreigners to have E-KTPs.
They told me that they had yet to receive instructions to process E-KTPs for KITAP holders and told me to telephone them several weeks from now to see if the situation has changed.

My wife tells me the Palsu E-KTP case is now in progress, it amazes me that some indivisible can fiddle 60 billion and think they can get away with it

I am now in possession of a KK for myself and a temporary KTP while I await what they say will be an actual KTP. It has been taking the locals about 4 months to get theirs so I will wait. Having the temporary is something all by itself after the long and frustrating road I have been on with it. I can actually say that because of my insistence on getting things done correctly and not being to shy to go way over some heads, enlisting an English speaking teacher to help in translating a power point document that shown every visit, step, and conversation we had with government officials, a newspaper reporter making and recording calls to higher ups for us and we recording the voices of government personnel refusing to give us what was required while insisting on things we didn't need but only if we did them favors, the Kapalas Dinas was fired and replaced with someone that is going to clean the place up. The lady in charge of the department that handles all foreigners is now in an office of 10 people processing paperwork in another section and has no contact with anyone outside the department. 2 of the government individuals we dealt with regularly are now demoted and in some back dark office. One, retired. The new lady in charge of processing foreigners was a head of HR and is a stickler for regulations. She was in constant contact with us while she figured out what she needed to do. So, tings picked up after the house cleaning.

Well it does seem you are making some headway, I'm pleased to hear certain individuals have been given the bullet, let's hope those remaining have got the message, bit of a struggle but you appear to have won in the end

Oh bolicks, I thought I had a nice new E-KTP, my wife and friend were discussion the E-KTP scandal, and I said, I've got a new E-KTP, so my friend got his ktp out and flexed it it snapped in half, I showed him my ktp, the plastic cover has started to come off, and if you flex it too much it almost breaks, plus for some reason the expire date is 6 months before my KITAP expires, so it was only valid for 20 months anyway, oh well that's indonesia

Hahaha...yes a funny, and sad, true story. I think others have there e-KTP expire before KITAP. There may be a rationale for this but I don't know.

Glory Days. After one year of fighting of which 6 months was waiting, I have a E-KTP. It's a blue one with WNA on the front and I don't care what color it is at this time. What a journey.

After I had it in my hand I told the CatSip lady who did all the proper things to process it that I will keep this but that I think she should look into getting me a proper brown KTP-OA. She told me that here they have no brown ones and that Jakarta told her the blue would be just fine. I explained that there may be a problem with Immigration accepting it but she didn't seem too worried.

I have one, it's copied multiple times, it is tucked away in my wallet now right next to my KITAP. Now, four more years and will probably start the battle all over again with new people. My file at CatSip is over an inch thick since they printed off my Power Point presentation detailing every step I took, person I spoke with, and donations asked for. I know with the changes at the CatSip that started with my complaints to higher authorities, 4 people were affected. DINAS was fired, three clerks of various ranks were reassigned to where they never deal with people directly. Glory Days.

Well done FP, perseverance pays off, my KTP is blue, I was informed by immigration that it should be brown, but they don't seem bothered by it, although you need it for your MERP and KITAP renewal, just another useless piece of plastic

Well done.
It is also required for the 5 year SIMs A/C

Wellll, the people here are not too alert and never seem to change the dates on the computer for printing out SIMs. I already have 5 year A/C. The nice Lady officer did tell me on the way out that I could get a 5 year when I get my KITAP. I had a KITAS then. I just nodded and continued on. I'm set for the renewal though when that time comes.
