Hi all

I am new in Indonesia and I would like to hear your opinion on my issue.

I arrived a few days ago on investor visa and everything went smooth (no finger taken at counter, they just put the sticker on the passport).
Next day I received my kitas pdf from agent. However, neither the sticker qr nor the kitas qr is working (invalid). On the other hand, my evisa qr is still valid till now. Is this normal?

Please advise, what should I do?

I'm glad they didn't take any fingers at the Airport! You might need them. You should go to your agent immediately and have them correct this problem. That is what you pay them for!

I downloaded 2 QR code reader apps but also could not read them (got things like : "xQ/SqVI+bliDKEc...")
Please advise, what should I do?
I think they are not important for us (I got 3 e-ITAS already but never before had the curiosity to read the QR code) . Next time I go to Kantor Imigrasi , I may ask about it .

i havent bothered to check mine - I dont think the QR code does anything.
The sticker in your passport has the correct dates?
The pdf document you have is your KITAS (not the QR part).

Thanks guys..

My agent said there's no problem, While two other agents said it's crucial to fix it asap. I don't know who I should follow!
One of them mentioned that the problem is that the evisa was not activated at the airport, hence it still says (Valid) and not used or expired.
Do you think I should go to the airport to try to activate the evisa?

Hey if your stickers and visa are coming up not valid, then you should get your agent to correct this. If your agent is bullshitting you, you can be in a heap of trouble down the road. If you are really paranoid. Go directly to an immigration office and have them look and tell you what is needed. Good luck! 👍🙏🤷🏼‍♂️🤪✌️🙀

I noticed and also heard that Indonesians usually don't like to say "I don't know" .

An Indonesian single entry Visa is valid for use once in up to 90 days , and a multiple entry for the duration of each visa type (1 year , 2 years) .

I assume your Visa is single entry : even as you say that the visa "is still valid" but should be cancelled when you used it , it is not your fault (unless you use it again later) .

I think that these QR codes are for Immigration to know if the documents are originals . The sticker is surely original as you saw the immigration officer stick it in your passport , the doubt is your e-ITAS which you got from your agent . You can at least compare the few written data from the original sticker with the e-ITAS .

Indonesian visa agents have been reliable , as far as I know . But we should always be sure about our personal documents (this is why I always do my documents myself as much as possible) . So when you have some time , better go to your local Kantor Imigrasi and ask them to check if your e-ITAS is original .

Ok i just got a new Kitap so i decided to test it. Using a normal phone camera (which is what i presume you did) the QR code does not read at all. Neither does my last one which worked perfectly fine going through immigration almost weekly for years.

If this is what you are trying to do, I would not worry about this.

If your new one does not read at all. And you say your old one doesn't either, then were they actually reading it all those years, or just looking to see if it was on your passport?

This is what I get when I check the sticker and kitas qr.
All my friends' qr that I know work perfectly fine.

I am wondering if this is what you get also (attached)

No it just doesnt read at all. I think the printing they use isnt good enough quality.
This is the small sticker in the passport right?
The attachment that says "invalid" is the kitas qr, while the "404" is my passport sticker qr.

Btw, I am currently at the airport, and the kitas problem is fixed. They asked me to download an "updated" version of the kitas and it worked. All the information appears after scanning the new qr. However, they didn't fix the sticker problem, they said it's ok if it doesn't work. Better one thing than nothing😅

Thanks guys

And from where did you download this "updated" version ?

And from where did you download this "updated" version ?
evisa.imigrasi.go.id
Using the credentials that were used to create your kitas application. If your agent submitted on your behalf, ask them to login and send you the updated file.
