The JG reports a team of police have been sent to Saudi Arabia to find Rizieq Shihab. If they do find him and bring him back, how do you people think it may play out in Indonesia. Will FPI demontstrate? It appears the police are willing to deal with this. Or do you think it may be swept under the rug i.e. investigated but no/reduced charges or something else? Why are the police acting now?

I certainly can't tell you why Tito has decided that officers should be sent to KSA but I can definitely tell you that IF they get him extradited, FPI members willing to oppose the police will be given a taste of the stick if they mess.

Arresting is one thing, prosecuting and sentencing him is another. You can't impress POLRI or TNI. Putting pressure on prosecutors and judges on the other hand is something the street can achieve easily. Hey! I don't know if there is truth in it but some even say that you can buy your way out of the judicial system here.

Everything I read is that once found they want to question him. Nothing about bringing him back. I think a dumb move by the police. Gives Rizieq more importance than he should get. The porn charges don't fly with any International police agency so there will be no help in returning him legally. They should have used any of the other charges against him to have a foot to stand on. Nobody cares about his little willey on Whatsapp followed by some unattractive naked female. Sure, his position says otherwise but people just don't care about some personal porn exchange by private citizens.

I don't know how long he has been in Saudi or what his business there is, but as far as I remember Saudis issue business visa, only valid a few days, umrah valid 2weeks to 30 days and the Haj visa you have to leave before haj finishes, mind if you have a princely friend he can always fiddle you a visa, so I'm wondering if he has some friends of a similar interests to him in Saudi so he can remain indefinitely till someone pays someone off or it's now deemed not as serious as first though, mind who is interested in two fat ugly people cavorting about starkers in the privacy of their home

Haha , Shakespeare could have written that line with him in mind. Execellent artical by coconuts showing the wheeling, dealing and corruption that goes on here

I'm not sure if Coconuts has a physical office in Indonesia (it's main headquarters are in Hong Kong). Maybe that's the reason they can publish bolder articles not having to worry about having their offices set upon...

I think they want Rizieq out of the country or he would not be out of the country. I think bringing him back would cause more problems then they want, at this time. Things have died down some so now they are investigating further. This is like Indonesia's version of the neo-nazis. They both hate minorities and Jews perhaps they could get together. I sure have not seen the same level of protests against the fpi, as I have seen in other countries against hate groups. Sometimes the police have accompanied them, like last Christmas in Surabaya. The police went with them to the mall, to see if Muslims were wearing Santa hats against their wills ( oh brother). Or the police have watched while a temple etc is burned down and few consequences.
