How to obtain Indonesian Citizenship

I trust you have adequate funds for your old age as if, heaven forbid, you should fall on hard times I presume that giving up your citizenship would mean you have no entitlement to a pension.

Americans or former Americans could still collect Social Security and any privately funded pension program. A foreigner working in the US, if worked the qualifying years would be able to collect the same no matter where they lived.

While I'm not saying that that is not the case, I wouldn't want to be one to have to find out or the red tape involved.

I am not so sure that is true, that a person can still collect Social Security if living outside America. I know that they are not covered by Medicare, or MediCal, if living out of the country. If a person can collect their SS payment out of the country, what about a person on SSI, (Social Supplemental Insurance, SSD ( Social Supplemental Disability). Can they receive their monthly payment?
And why is it, that a person can't be covered by Medical, or Medicaid, Medicare, while out of the country? If they could, then an Elderly person on SS, SSI, or SSD, could be covered overseas without having to have expensive Travel Insurance! 🤷🏼‍♂️

If you have renounced your citienship why would you be entitled to a pension? Or any welfare benefits medical or otherwise?
Sorry, I wasn't referring to that person wanting to renounce their citizenship, I was thinking of just Expats, living out of the country? Can they receive any benefits while out of the country?

Because pension and state benefit are two different things.

Generally, there are two types of pensions: the State Pension and private pensions. Even with the State Pension, which is provided by the government, you may still be eligible to receive it if you change your nationality since entitlement is based on your qualifying years of contributions while working, rather than your nationality. This is even more applicable to private pensions, as they consist entirely of your own savings for retirement. Many people opt for private pensions because they can benefit from tax advantages.

I as well as other older Americans easily qualify and receive that monthly SS payment that we have contributed to for many long years. There would be thousands just in the Philippines that would argue against your assumption too. Millions around the world. As for SSI, maybe but it does need a doctor's verification and I doubt they would accept it from any non US doctor.

I thought you were an old American. You don't know what benefits are available to you?
