What people have to understand is that BPR are absolutely not for one's everyday banking needs. If one is looking for the range of service a commercial bank offers, packed in a BPR one has just misunderstood what a BPR is. They are just for investing money one doesn't need for a certain period of time and get in return a decent interest rate, far above any proposal a commercial bank would do. Period. Don't expect a fancy thing and no need to wear your best tuxedo when you visit them.
In fact, I use BPRs as a "retreat plan". I have put money there so that the amount of interest paid allows me to live decently, without having to change much of my standard of life, the day I wouldn't be able to produce any income from my work. It's perhaps also why the BPR I deal with are nice with me. There is 15 years they have my money and they know they will keep it probably till I die.
I said earlier that I am an old school boy and like to have cash rather than electronic money. That's me and I like the CS officer of the BPR coming to visit us with the cash of interests every now and then.
Having three kids and a wife, the CS officer is pretty busy coming with birthdays et al anyway. So better that they don't just come bringing an ugly cake or a carton of apples or oranges and bring me a wad of cash at the same time.
But
if I would want to, the BPR could automatically transfer the interest in any bank account of any public bank I would name them. So really if I would be living in Kemang and that my BPR would be in Cempaka putih or Mangga dua I wouldn't give a damn f**k about it because I wouldn't have to go there more than once a year... or less. Jeez, I can't even recall when was the last time I have visited any of the two I deal with.
Quite a big spread.
