EV in Indonesia

Considering that at 27/02/2024 only 875 Tesla "cybertrucks" were delivered you were among the lucky fews or ...........

BTW it's a horrible thing ! 🙈🙈
eh whatever, I literally live close by Giga Factory Austin, and been reserving for way too long. I just picked it up last Friday. Just bc you can't have one does not mean my experiences have to be bad. But I know my cybertruck battery can power up my entire house during outage. Not only that I bought it TAX FREE bc I can tax exempt anything, then I got $7500 IRS section 176 tax credit, then I can deduct my entire purchase 😄 Including the fee to install 240 outlet in my garage, I'll get those $ back. So I get to buy it waay cheaper than most ppl, bc I can & I know how to exclude my self from the US Jurisdiction.

It's also faster than your car.....lmao!!

This forum seems full of nasty ppl, probably broke too, I'm done.

A review of BYD:

The BYD Atto 3 has something special up its sleeve under the skin. It has alternatively built, extra-flat batteries that are virtually impervious to fire. The manufacturer itself speaks of Blade Batteries. In addition to taking up less space in height and being very crash-safe, the BYD batteries have another advantage. Unlike the batteries of most EVs, they do not contain cobalt. This is good news for people and the environment. The flat battery pack is a boon for interior space. Tall people can sit in the back without their legs getting tangled, despite the standard panoramic roof. For a battery specialist like BYD, we find the Atto 3's fast-charging capabilities a little disappointing. Max 88 kW.
Loading time: 3:37 hours at 11 kW and 00:44 hours at 80 kW (80%). The Kia Niro EV (100 kW) and Volkswagen ID.3 (120 kW) do that better. The net battery capacity is very average at 60.5 kWh, and the range is 418 kilometers. Neat exterior but not very exciting. Inside, however, things get more exciting. The colours are bold and the shapes ripple throughout the interior. The details are somewhere in the big grey area between 'playful' and 'kitschy'.

If you only go by facts and can spend a bit more, then you should buy a Tesla. Seen plenty of them in Batam. I don't know if they are still THE leading company when it comes to EVs but surely one of them. Chinas quality, no matter what car we are talking about isn't quite there yet. Don't know about Japanese models either.
I'll go with Tesla thanks. Tesla isn't just an EV company, read their white paper, they are a Tech & energy company. EV is just one of their current main revenue, but 10yrs from now their Dojo Supercomputer will do much more than what Nvidia can do. FSD will no longer built on graphic cards and all EVs on earth will be relying on FSD SaaS licenses. But I agree with you, I'll go with Tesla for the bday gift. Bc my dad deserves it.

Admin, please close this thread. I have gathered some valuable feedback from members who contributed positively. However, I don't need those soulless, broke, and jealous opinions. They don't matter. Why they stay broke.

FSD = Full Self Driving

Sure, I think these days it's the best choice for a casual EV.
By the way, I find it interesting what you say about taxes. You should still know the rules concerning gifts..just to make sure. Having some interesting discussions about gifts and taxes these days.😅😂😂

However, a gift from child to father or vice versa is tax free. See Tax Law, article 4 paragraph 3 a.2

What is excluded from taxation is:
"Gifted assets received by blood relatives in a straight line of one degree, religious bodies, educational bodies, social bodies including foundations, cooperatives, or individuals who run micro and small businesses, the provisions of which are regulated by or based on the Regulation of the Minister of Finance".

Good then, so no problems.😊

Personally I don't get the big fuzz about it. Some people like EVs, others don't. Also considering being broke or not broke, Teslas are not even considered expensive cars compared to real expensive cars. Plus you get subsidies here and there...and if you can escape jurisdiction (whatever that means)it seems you can get it for free.😂
The tone from both sides could have been better. Sometimes it's just enough to provide the infos that someone has asked for. A bit of boasting was also included...then again a Tesla or any other car mentioned in this thread so far (except Lamborghini) isn't really something to boast with.

...
Personally, I've owned both combustion engine vehicles and a Tesla Model 3 2024 Highlands & a Cybertruck. I love my Teslas, but I also love my Jeep Mohave.

...
I also don't like to go by "heart", it's anecdotal. I like to go by FACTS, why I asked the question, to gather data.

Cars are just transportation, to get u from point A to B. Not sure why you correlated it with looking rich?
I was merely explaining my driving experiences & choices for Indonesia.
I couldn't care less if you (or anyone else ) are rich or poor. It really isn't a thing that interests me, I was inferring how others see me- stating that I try to blend in with the masses on the roads (the 'bule' factor is real & I am often seen as a walking atm) and wouldn't want "accidents/bangs to my car to happen accidently on purpose.
I was also trying to establish, what kind of thing your dad would actually like, I know that a Tesla/EV is pretty easy to drive and I also know the High-tech label can be intimidating for some older people- I know this because I was in a similar position & trying to get my mum to choose one, her objections were the tech and the fire risks.
Everyone is different. Obviously I didn't communicate that well enough. My apologies.

Not sure who was being passive aggressive in the thread. If you are implying that I was being PA: your opinion, you are entitled to it. I would disagree, I see myself as being very direct, I do not see myself as PA. Again- everyone is different.

@MamangDudul - yes, it is all about personal choice & yes the communication could have been better.

Enjoy your cybertruck when it rains

Many are being returned because they are already rusting

Not true. The rust came from other metal sources that attached to the body of the truck.

Same applies to all cars btw, don’t park for a longer period close to a marshaling yard or a blast furnaces company.

So stainless steel body shell that does stain

Rust is iron oxide right?
Also don't park near the sea or a shot blasting factory

BYD Yangwang U8 is the only EV that can float and sail like a boat, no worries if there is flood in Indonesia.
