My family and I are planning to visit Indonesia next summer. My wife wants to take a sabbatical break from work for three months. I thought this would be the perfect time to apply for an E32A visa. We live in the US and obtaining an E32A visa is part of our retirement plan. We intend to return to Indonesia when the time comes.

I am aware of the E32A requirements and have no issues meeting them. I am curious about the application process and whether anyone has successfully received this visa. How long does the process typically take?

Regarding the fees, is the 12 million rupiah fee per applicant, or can it be used for the entire family?

Thank you in advance.

I don't know , but visa process in general has became easier . The E32A is a non-sponsored visa , so you can request it yourself (online) . As you can use it within 90 days , you can start requesting it up to around 92 days before your planned trip to Indonesia .
How long does the process typically take?
I guess , less than 1 week after you submit all required documents .

Per applicant . Other family members(s) may request the dependent Visa .

If you intend to retire in Indonesia , fortunately you have many options .
Just now , Indonesian Government bonds (in Rupiah) are at around 7% per year , so it is probably a good option for the US$35,000 E32A investment requirement . If you don't think so , you still have the 1 or 2 years Ex-Indonesian sponsored Visa/KITAS (E32C/D) which can change to 5 years KITAP and no investment is required .

But if you still don't know when you will retire , I think getting the E32A now may not be the best option . For staying only 3 months you could just get a 60 days (extendable up to 180 days) C1 Tourist Visit Visa .

The idea is we want to start looking for property as investment while we are in Indo. As I understand E32A holder can own property.
I also interested on dependent visa, how does that work?

Don't buy property in Jakarta, would be my advice. See other threads.

You cannot hold property.

Like Centurion above , I am also not aware of any change in the Land Law related to ownership by foreigners , so if we are right , foreigners continue not been allowed to own "Hak Milik"/full ownership property .

In contrast to Indonesia, foreigners in Singapore can actually own property but only have a leasehold or usage rights. Depending visa is tied to the main holder’s visa type, such as E32A, and also valid for the same amount of time. Double check with immigration for the latest updates, definitely.

In America, if you are born or have become a legal citizen, you can buy land, motor vehicles, etc. in your name, and get the title in your name. A much better policy than Indonesia.

It seems similar to Indonesia . Resident foreigners in Indonesia can own "Hak Pakai/Right to Use" property (but with very restrictive rules) .

Its is the same if you became a legal Indonesian citizen .

Regarding "birthright citizenship", it is a country's policy that I guess , has positive and negative factors .

... Donald Trump, ... he will revoke birthright citizenship for future children born to undocumented immigrants. But Trump’s allies and legal advisers would go much further, denying birthright citizenship to all children born to noncitizens ...

But does this Hak Pakai give the foreigner the title to the property in their name, with the right to sell it also at a later date?

Another sad example of the madness of the Orange Clown named Bozo! I think they are just, blowing a lot of hot air like the Wizard Of Oz. All these immigrants do all the menial labor, farm labor, and construction work in America. There is no way, the rich farmer's will lose their labor force.
How sad to pick on poor children.

In many developed countries, such as the U.S., Europe, and Australia, buying a landed property, a detached house with land and a large backyard, etc is often unrestricted by citizenship or residency requirements. For instance, a sizeable number of very wealthy Indonesian citizens, Asian Tycoons own property in Australia. Likewise, in London, some properties in prestigious areas are owned by individuals from the Middle East, Russian Oligarch, Asian Tycoons.

Yes . But the restrictions are so many that I think it is not worth .

Below is a Regulation about it (it was revised already but I don't have the details) .
https://www.expatindo.org/community...operty-ownership-options-for-foreigners.1602/ (about buying Indonesian property)

PerMen no.13 Year 2016

Oh well, trump is president and you can probably throw the Constitution into the dumpster fire. I have to laugh at the comments I an seeing from minority populations that voted for him. Latino illegal migrant, Trump will only deport the criminal illegals. Muslim group in Michigan who told their members to back Trump, we didn't know he was going to do the things he is now saying. Blacks, we thought he was going to produce more jobs for us but it doesn't look like it now unless we have to go back to the fields.

No one listened to his own words. His new Migrant Czar stated that all illegals will be deported. Anyone in the house that is a citizen and tries to protect an illegal will too be deported. He is going to seriously look at birth right citizenship and take the citizenship away and deport them. He is going to look at those who became naturalized citizens and possibly reverse those citizenships. I'm pretty confident that no white people will lose anything. Maybe it's a way to get rid of this wife cheaply along with her family.

I guess it could be worse. There is talk if plans to do the Article 25 on him and elevate Vance to president. I would hate to be a woman in the US under either but Vance would be the bigger threat. Now we will get to see if the middle right republicans have a spine and can stand against maga.

Yes, but the point of the post is foreigners are not allowed to do that in Indonesia. It doesn't seem fair, that rich Indonesians can buy Australian property, but Australians can't be Indonesian property!

You might want to sit down for this, not much in life is fair. Either accept it or work to change it. Simply complaining about it does no good.

Yes and if you are not an Indonesian with government influence and a pocket of money than really you only have one choice, accept it. Live with it.

Not surprised about minorities voting for Trump. I think that many migrants from impoverished nations are relieved to get into a developed country and don't want their new lives spoiled by millions of refugees or illegals upsetting the apple cart.
