Dramatic footage from flood ravaged Pacitan regency.

As mentioned by dafluff in the Agung eruption thread, Pacitan regency has experienced flooding and landslides over the past couple of days with lives lost and a great deal of damaged incurred. The video below shows how quickly things can change in these situations with a river of water surging into the already flooded street catching locals by surprise. The video also shows flooding and the destruction of a bridge.

A quick thinking digger operator saves a driver whose truck tips over on a flooded roadway near Yogyakarta, Progo River, Banaran Village, District of Galur as the region continues to deal with the devastating floodwaters.. 19 people have now been confirmed dead

First video shows the truck disappearing, the second video shows the digger righting the truck enough to free the driver.

Yikes. The lesson I take is ... even a few inches of water flooding needs to be taken seriously. At a fast flow rate, and quickly getting deeper, it can be very serious.
