DON'T PANIC.... well, maybe a little bit.

Most of the coronavirus treatments are 5-10 days.

However, it would be very hard to find a doctor or medical facility here who would follow up daily your therapy and monitor it with EKG.

This is very interesting.
(Scary, yet interesting)

"To the surprise of the scientists, the T cell became a prey to the coronavirus in their experiment. They found a unique structure in the virus’ spike protein that apparently triggered the fusion of a viral envelope and cell membrane when they came into contact.

The virus’s genes then entered the T cell and took it hostage, disabling its function of protecting humans."

I read somewhere that the problem with COVID-19 includes an overreaction by our body’s immune system, causing it to attack lung tissue. It’s still not well understood.

Edit: I found it. They call it the Cytokine Storm Syndrome.

Yes, it happens with some cancer patients. There is actually a treatment for it.

Most likely explanation: not enough testing.

But let's entertain other possibilities: few large, poorly ventilated spaces. No mass public transit, large malls, high rise buildings. Majority of religious activity outdoors (Hindu).

Sun year round.

Does anybody know where Prabowo is?

I never did see any answer to this question and a Google search for news produced nothing at all recently. Very strange. Is he ill? Or waiting in the wings for a Corona debacle to step up as the strong leader needed to take over then reins of government?

And in answer to that question I found Jakarta Post reporting a move two weeks ago.

"Jokowi quietly recruited Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto last week to speed up efforts to contain the novel coronavirus, asking him to procure medical and personal safety equipment from China by using the Indonesian Military (TNI) to fast-track the delivery."

And I now recall seeing a reference to an aircraft delivery from China following Prabowo's response.

Buy an airplane, get a case of masks? :)

Luhut: Gov't to attract tourists from China, Korea and Japan. Says tourists are eager to get out now that their countries are recovering.

Delusional or hopelessly optimistic? :ROFLMAO:

He was seen doing some ministerial stuff today:

Option C: Ludicrous Speed

Yes people will be wanting to go on holiday, but at the same time, travel restrictions will be in place for months, if not at least a year. Plus, even if you allow them in, there is a high chance the reset button is pressed and we all go back into lock down mode.

Right now with what's happening in Japan I do not think Japanese tourist would be of any benefit. Just the opposite. The government just can't get off this thing about opening up or keeping open the nation because they think it will help their economy. People dying do not seem to matter if a few people can get some rupiah back. Some many cases have gone unreported now, I can't imagine how many if you start opening things up. No one has no idea of the counts and I doubt the government wants to know even with their new transparency ruling. If they know, they won't be telling you.

When countries will lift the confinement, they will push for people to spend their holidays inside the country and help the economy. Not to go overseas and create an outflow of currency....
And hence will probably put in place rules and regulations making overseas travel "complicated" to disuade people. Plus in cases like China and South Korea play a bit on the "patriotic fiber".
Just my 2 eurocent...

For those of you who regularly watch local TV (Metro TV, TV One) during primetime, is there more advertisements for cough medicine now or it was already this many before COVID-19? If Yes, does it mean, if you are coughing, take cough syrup, if you have fever, take paracetamol, problem solved for the meantime.

There is a distinct increase in Indonesian TV advertising of supposed health related products which, while not saying they will stop Corona, they are saying will make your health much better and leaving it to you to fill in the gaps by hoping your new healthier immune system will then be able to fight off Corona with their products. Not to mention all the heavily sugared drinks which are supposed to open the doors to an exciting and wonderful, new, healthy lifestyle.

Most western countries have millions of people led down the road to obesity, diabetes and a dire range of ill health by advertising of rubbish foods that imply a path to family bliss and happiness. Most of these crappy foods are overloaded with salt and sugars designed to create craving for more. Then it's instant meals, fried chicken and all the other stuff that will see a new generation of Indonesians on the same road to obesity and ill health as all the Western victims of this lethal marketing. Health costs now in most western countries are staggering. And then of course the victims of this toxicity become prey to predatory purveyors of enormously over priced medications meant to provide cures. An example in the US where diabetics may pay in excess of $1000 for a monthly supply of insulin which sells in Canada for a tenth of the price.

I can see that happening.

When I was living in Stirling before 2010, I was talking with someone who ran the 'Ghost Walk'. He said during a recession, it is the local and domestic tourist places that people go to.

Imagine if they had truth in advertising laws here? The manufactures would go crazy.

An article in the Washington Post about lack of safety measures in a Wuhan lab studying corona viruses in bats. Trump will be pleased with this.
