recently converted my KITAS into a KITAP

Same for me 4 years ago, lost 2 weeks I think.

Not for some things. I was 3 days late renewing my NIK because of Immigration being late on my KITAP. I had given them over a month but... Had to start all over again with paper work for my NIK like I had never had one before and got a slap on the wrist and had to fill out a letter that I was sorry I was late and it won't happen again. Took over a week to get my new NIK because of being late.

There is no such thing as renewing a NIK. That’s a unique number you get only once. Search the forum, many years ago I even explained its composition.

KTP then? Mine expired after 5 years and the new one does as well in another 5 years. It used to look just like an Indonesian's card but now they are pink or light red according to your eyesight for a foreigner. Looks like this.

By safe I meant : he does not need to worry about delays and/or paying overstay fine .

Although Immigration may still not approve , I think it is very improbable , based on what I have been reading in Forums these last 17 years .

This is (probably) the first time I see a problem in being late at Kantor Catatan Sipil/Registry Office .

I was always late in requesting many SKTT (similar to KTP and also required by Law for KITAS' holders) but they never cared .

I'm not sure why they chose to make me jump through all the hoops and wait a week. Maybe they thought I would request expedited service ($$) , maybe they felt powerful that day or maybe it's just the rules and you have been lucky. It was harder paperwork wise to renew my KTP (is this the right term?) than it was to get my permanent KITAP. However the wait wasn't as long.

Issue,

during my renewal process, the immigration people came and inspect my premises

telling me that I should not be on this E28A visa but E25E
E28A kitas is for people who are willing to bring 10 Billion IDR and prepared to pump in the IDR within 3 years.

I have never able to understand this as always I been told by the notary that we can slowly walk towards 10 Billion.

The inspector said that advise me on the E25E which is never recommended by the Notary.

I already submitted the E28A halfway , so what can I do now ?

First of all it’s a legal obligation and it proves you are recorded at the civil registry. Like having a SIM when driving a car or motorcycle. I realize citizens from the UK and Australia might not be used -or in favor- of having an ID card, but that’s the way it is over here. Just like in the EU btw.

Secondly people here understand what a KTP is. You can use it anywhere and it is THE WAY to identify yourself. Get a bank account, report for the permanent ITAP, take a domestic flight or borrow a wheel chair at the mall; they all expect a KTP. It sucks it‘s pink now but that’s how it is.

I think you need to ask Immigration if you must change the KITAS type or what .

The Manager E25E KITAS is for working as manager (requires a work permit) , very different from your Investor E28A KITAS .

The KITAP or KITAS is not an identification document and (as far as I remember) only used for Immigration and to open a bank account , no other business will request it . In Indonesia I can do almost everything with a photocopy (or a photo in the phone) of my passport for identification document's purpose (but now I got a KTP so I will use its photocopy as I rarely carry a phone) .

I think you need to ask Immigration if you must change the KITAS type or what .

The Manager E25E KITAS is for working as manager (requires a work permit) , very different from your Investor E28A KITAS .

If it is a must , you could ask Immigration if you can :
a) just do a sponsor change process , or
b) get a 60 days "Bridge" Stay Permit then get the 2 years E25E KITAS .

The reply I get from the immigration is inconsistent. Like, since you are already a investor KITAS under your own PT PMA, you will not be able to switch to E25E, you need to get another company to become your sponsor. (If I came to here to setup a PT PMA, if my PT PMA cannot be my sponsor who else can?) I even holds all these messages to protect myself just in case anyhow backfire.

I shared my problem on getting the license which is hard to get and that is why I cannot operate it yet.

Now the immigration officer is texting privately to share with me that he have someone who can help me.

a. At the PMA's evisa account you request a "Change Data" process ,
b) Then you choose "Concurrent Activity to Manager"

By doing the above , you continue with your Investor KITAS + you are also reported as your PMA's General Manager .

My KBLI is 78102 which my work is to train WNI and send them out to work as helper. I need this specific license called the P3MI. The officer said that he have friend who can help me with it as I been asking lots of notary they are unable to do it.

This does not look good . I would not trust this officer anymore . But treat him/her very respectably because Immigration officers can easily deport you .

The issue we are having here is there is lots of inconsistency.

From raising from 1 Billion IDR to 10 Billion IDR is such a short time.
And also wanted all of us to comply within such short notice period.

Understand that they are trying to differentiate between the real investor and those sham ones... But isn't it too hard for normal people who are keen to come an do business?

I would check the Immigration officer recommended friend + look for other companies in this field in the internet . Because the license depends on ISO 9001 certification , you can search for companies in this area or in general like "jasa izin lisensi P3MI" .

My friend holds a different view

He said don't ever get close to police any government bodies who don't behave professionally because they are here to gain benefits

About this , I guess better contact the Government's BKPM (https://bkpm.go.id/en/home : Ministry of Investment and Downstream Industry) .

...they wanted us to increase from 1 billion IDR to 10 billion IDR... I'm renewing my kitas and officer came in and inspect my premises and asked me to do a top up otherwise lose this E28A which is a investor kitas

Be careful in not overstaying your present KITAS , the fine is (if I am not wrong) Rp1 million per day.

I guess you should not be surprised because when you chose (unless it was chosen by your visa agent/notary and you just trusted him/her) this E28A Visa/KITAS around 2 years ago , it is (probably was) clearly stated :
"Type of Visa E28A
A person who has invested at least 10,000,000,000 rupiah in Indonesia ..." (from https://evisa.imigrasi.go.id/web/visa-selection) .

If I know this I should not be waiting for this renewal.

It is either realization and also as in shares that you hold.

All new E28A Kitas application are allowed to just used the shares to apply and get 2 years


However for renewal they want to see realization.

I think this is the case now.

Just remembered during the processing 2 years ago, the Kitas sponsor just required 1 billion instead or 10 billion which they increased in December 2024.

How can they just increase a 10 folds and expect us to hit realization this quick
