I'm doing freediving and scuba diving. Open water license for scuba diving and basic freediving. Both of them came from SSI. Next year maybe, I want to go to advanced level for both of them.
I skin dived for years before I got scuba certified, still do when I have company in town or take the gf out as she isn't certified and not very good in the water(but we're working on it.) We have a lot of fun just snorkeling off shore looking for shells, even if it's a little wavy and I'm getting rolled at the sand bar and the vis isn't that good I have just as good a time as if I'm 130' down staring at a wreck.
Speaking of shells I have a good collection from over the years, I only take them when they're empty (it's against the law to take the queen conchs alive, people eat them and almost cleared them off,) my apartment is full of them.
