Bigotry? There is an app for that!

The Jakarta Prosecutors Office has launched an app that allows users to report beliefs they consider to be misguided or heretical.

The app, currently available on Google Playstore, streamlines the process of being an intolerant bigot, and it features list of forbidden beliefs, banned organizations, fatwas issued by the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) and a form to report complaints about religious beliefs.

“If there are reports from the public, we can immediately act on them. Before, people needed to write a letter, which was troublesome. Through this application, we will immediately know where the reports come from,” Kejati Jakarta assistant for intelligence matters Yulianto said at the app’s launch on Thursday as quoted by kompas.com.

Because obviously "writing a letter" is troublesome to people whose intelligence levels are probably at the "Fitsa Hats" level or lower. Now they have only a screen to tap.

Naturally there are concerns that this app can "result in persecution, violence and criminalization", which is exactly what Komnas HAM commssioner Choirul Anam said.

Even the Google Playstore page is not sugar coating the app, with the feature image of it showing an article titled "Why Ahmadiyya is not Islam".

For now, the app is rate 1.9 out of 5 stars, and has only 100+ downloads.
