The thing with these pesky volcanoes is that they dance to their own tune & to hell with everything else... downright inconsiderate of them if you ask me

We need to sacrifice a few children.

Agung Update:

Even with tremor energy decreasing (post #104 in this thread), the number of tremors remain very high. Interestingly, I couldn't find any official comment on what this means. (There very well may be, but I haven't looked very hard).

My uninformed guess is that the risk level could be decreasing, but that it is too early to call off the evacuations, as it would be very hard to get people to evacuate again if so warranted in the near future.

It raises the question of what authorities propose to do with all those evacuated if Agung maintains a high level of danger over an extended period of time.

If there were a mechanism by which volcanic eruptions could be forced or induced, Indonesia would certainly be in the market for it.

ya its a problem for the evacuees for sure , the sinabung volcano evacuees have been in a camp for 3 years + , must be hell for the people .

A rather marked drop in recorded number of tremors today. However, the scientists warns it is far to early to conclude that this is a trend.

I think forcing a volcano to erupt would be a dodgy thing to do, you don’t know what will happen, a mild rumble or a Krakatoa event

Well said B_A...most people I talk to here in Bali say they wish it would blow-up and we can get over it....but your idea of quelling it with some medicine seems better.
It has recently slowed down in violent activity.....maybe Vanhelsing did find some volunteer children.....
