Art for sale

Point of note. Ola's paintings are much bigger, so they cannot be the exact same & they exist in real life, I have seen them.
Other than that if you want to get into a copyright war over it I suggest that the 2 artists deal with it amongst themselves.
I am neither a detective not prepared to get into an online slanging war over it- especially not in Indonesia where slurring someone online has consequences.
End of story from me.
Is that some sort of veiled threat?

I haven't slurred anyone. I am merely asking questions about the art that you are selling that is also advertised for sale by a well established European artist. An artist that has been a top seller for years on some of the biggest European art sites.

I also find it strange that you are still trying to say the paintings are different when you can see yourself they are exactly the same.

How can it be stolen? The large painting is here in Indonesia. Olla has made no claim that the smaller artwork is stolen- jeepers- drama much.
Because you are the one implying Monika is copying Olla work.
Selling someone elses artwork as your own is theft.

I am not implying anything at all, you were the one who stated that "The Original" has a signature.
The rest of it is down to the lawyers to deal with between the artists, not you, not me.
Safest way to deal with these matters in Indonesia is to not make online accusations.

No I don't make threats online, no I have no vested interest either way- the dispute is between the 2 artists-
the two paintings are massively different in size- this is the difference I am talking about
& I can state that I have actually seen the large paintings.. & now I am done.

Monika sells prints and canvases of her paintings in different sizes. The originals sell for more.

What dispute?
I am just asking questions about the art that you are promoting here.

Actually, sorry Badass, but that's a cop-out. It is clear to all that the paintings from the two artists are identical. No two ways about it. To say leave it up to the lawyers implies that there may be some gray area. A slightly larger size means nowt.

There's no danger of libel to state as such, only if you accuse one artist or the other of being the fraud.

Willy, to say I will leave it up to the artists is exactly what I will do, I posted in good faith.
I am neither artist, I cannot speak for either one of them if there is a dispute so I cannot weigh in on any arguments. Call it a 'cop out" if you will.
I cannot delete the post, I cannot rescind /edit anything said.
I do not want to be caught up in this argument.
I do not want to accuse anyone, nor do I want to defend anyone.
The artist that I know is looking into legal recourse, in her words "to protect my work"- so as far as I am concerned I am out of the picture- pardon the pun.
IF she has copied the work then I will most definitely be kicking her in the arse.

These are not copies, they are the exact same paintings, look at the palette knife and brush strokes.

Again another cropped image on Olla instagram:

And a painting sold by Monika

Additionnally, if you look at the comments for that particular picture:

One of her comments: "It's new, the paint is till wet".

She could have hash tagged Alfred Nobel as well, since it looks like it's his words she quoted.

See this is what I love about this forum. You can't get away with anything. :ROFLMAO:

Indeed, that quote is translated from "Hope is nature’s veil for hiding truth’s nakedness" into Indonesian, without attribution to Alfred Nobel.

I believe what Bad_azz is trying to say is that she has no pony in this race besides knowing an artist that is ifgering something she has seen and the differences are in size. The race belongs to the 2 artist and inly there can this argument be resolved, not here with no one having a pony in this race.

People are so quick to say, hey, she has been around for quite some time. Well guess what, there are many really good Indonesian artist that have been around for a long time too. Indonesian artist get very little recognition on the world stage so one really doesn't know who was first now, do they. Let the artist figure it out. I'm sure they both know now and something will come of it.

Yes it is important to recognize that an artist has been around for a long time, no matter what mental gymnastics you try to do to justify your position. We are talking about a very distinct style of art.

One artist has painted and sold hundreds of originals, prints and canvases with authentication on all of the top European art sites, and has regularly been on the best sellers lists for years. An artist that has also done many commissions in her style of art.

Bad_azz advertised art for sale on here and when questions were asked was quick to start throwing around comments like my friend is flattered when she is imitated, then lawyer talk, legal disputes, copyright etc. If you are prepared to go out a promote something then you should take some level of responsibility.

And again throwing around different sizes as evidence when artists sell canvasses and prints in different sizes is meaningless.

So you tell me Fastpitch what do YOU see in these two pictures:

Advertised for sale by Olla Manelo through Bad_azz

A painting SOLD by Monika Luniak

Do you see imitation? inspiration? or the exact same painting minus the lower signature area?
Have we uncovered some sort of mystery of the universe where two artists have painted the exact same picture, with identical palette knife markings and brush strokes, using the exact same colours but in different sizes?

In art, you copy, you copy, and then one day you mess up and make an original work.
Picasso.
