As much as I would love to agree... i suspect this will be a close series. Which is good for cricket.

I believe it will be a series dictated by bowlers as both teams' batting line-ups are suspect. Based on that assumption I think the Australians will win a close series.

A few early wickets in England's second innings after a captain's knock sees us with our nose in front.

What a difference a day makes. At the end of the day Australia only need 56 runs for victory tomorrow.. Cameron Bancroft would have to be pleased with a maiden test half century on debut. England will be a little concerned they failed to trouble Australia's opening batsmen in the second innings.

I find I can really enjoy a test match when Australia wins. I very quickly lose interest if they lose. As for all the other whacko Big bash stuff and 20 - 20 or whatever it is almost as boring as soccer and soccer is obviously close to being the most boring game on earth. There may be a more boring game but I can't think what it is.

I never lose interest in the greatest game of all-CRICKET.

Been a cricket "tragic" since I saw my first test match at the Sydney Cricket Ground during the West Indies tour in 1960/61.

Love soccer but lose in interest in some other sports if Australia is not winning.

Would have been great to Sir Garfield Sobers play. I had a quick look and found he took 15 wickets, 12 catches and made 430 runs in the 60/61 series against Australia with some saying his 132 in one innings being the best hundred made up until that time.

It was and still is a great memory. As a 10 year old I was fascinated that Wes Hall would start his run off half way to the fence. Much longer than any other bowler I have witnessed.
I remember vividly sitting on the grass on the old hill at the SCG and watching the larrikin behaviour around me. It was a very entertaining and the first of many great days at the SCG and GABBA.

A poor call by Warner resulted in a run out so Aussies are 1/55 right now.

Sean Marsh 103 not out. Great knock by all accounts. *cough* I don't know why anyone doubted him.

You'd think Australia would declare and look for a few quick ones in the final session.

When England bats, the strategy should be to only bowl bouncers until the umpire says, "Enough", and then take a leaf out of Greg Chappel's book and bowl underarm along the ground so that England can't quickly get runs. (Remember that infamous last ball of the test match against NZ to deprive them of any chance of winning by hitting a four or six?)

When the umpires get fed up with underarm then back to bouncers. And if the batsmen get stroppy then follow the Lillee guide book and try and kick them in the shins.

You can' tell us Australians about sport. We know it all. Not to mention spicing things up with a few swear words and derisive comments about the loose morality of the mothers of the English.
