Sorry a moment of madness! Being a Monday I was thinking day 4 but it is only day 3. We need an overall lead of 350 to 400 before thinking of a declaration.

Over the years Australia has had a terrible record chasing small scores in the 4th innings at the Adelaide oval.

Given that and with so much time to go in the game, I suppose it was a bit of a toss up whether to enforce the follow on. However, the swing with the pink ball at night should been enough for Smith to think twice about the follow on.

Ponting,Clarke and Smith have been reluctant, as captains, to enforce the follow on. Indeed, I cant remember the last time it happened.

The real problem from the last session is that England have gone from a hopeless situation to a chance in the game. With that they will be more confident for the remainder of the game which may also impact on the next game in Perth.

If we can get an overall lead of 350 I think we can win this one but all depends on the first session tomorrow.
