    Michelin in Bali? ⭐️⭐️

Beautika is not spicy enough, lol. Also totally overpriced for just basic nasi campur atmosphere, also any restaurant that takes pork based-cuisine and then removes the pork is an automatic 0/10 for me.

    Michelin in Bali? ⭐️⭐️

Why though? ChatGPT is not reliable and lacks discernment. E.g, This should be followed by 'they are wrong' > The FDA considers it safe for most people when consumed in moderate amounts" Wrong again. The sentence should end after 'safe'. Not 'for most people'. There is no evidence MSG is...

    Michelin in Bali? ⭐️⭐️

Don't need to go to PIK for Dim Sum, quite a few branches of Wing Heng outside of PIK, and open 24 hours as well.... Cheaper than HK (v. expensive city) I think too.

    Michelin in Bali? ⭐️⭐️

All a joke. Michelin star hawker stand - long queues, worse quality than other places serving the same thing. Crab omelette gran - insane price (1500 THB - far more than $5), insane hype. Borough Market Hainan rice - shameless thief fake Singaporean who grew up in England and stole recipes...

Job market for IT (etc.) in Jakarta

I have been living a bit off-grid, but was considering trying life in the big smoke for a while. (Have never lived there.) I have KTP (via ex-wife), and know Indonesian language, law, culture, etc. very well for a foreigner. I used to work in .NET + SQL server, but not for rather a long time...

Twitter Wars: Bali vs. Kristen Gray

I'm not sure many nomads are making $50k/year. The point seems to be that you can earn, say $15k/year from clients in the West and spend it all on Indonesia, which doesn't seem a bad thing from Indonesia's point of view. If you are going to demand $10k up front, then that's going to send these...

    'Indonesian' Rum

I bought some Old Pascas 'Jamaican rum'. At least it says Jamaican on the front. On the back it says 'made by Mikalindo Bakti Cemerlang'. Unfortunately I have never tried dark rum before so don't know how bad it is. The spiced Captain Morgan is my usual drink not because of any particular merit...

DON'T PANIC.... well, maybe a little bit.

Precisely? But there is a rampaging epidemic in places like Palangkaraya, based on % positive, but only tiny numbers of tests. What use would excess deaths in Jakarta be? There is no real way for Indonesia to do as badly as the UK or Italy because the population pyramid is different -...

Haj is canceled; anyone noticing the impact?

As I understand it if you go during Hajj month it's much more expensive, so Umroh is a cheaper way to impress the neighbours.

Haj is canceled; anyone noticing the impact?

Haj is for the people with very large amounts of money to burn. Most make do with umroh, which is sufficient to demonstrate your status for most people. Probably in higher circles only hajj would impress. As per Herbert, the hajj is oversubscribed, so getting more domba to do umroh is the...

DON'T PANIC.... well, maybe a little bit.

not really. check the testing stats. they are an absolute joke. antibody reactive results should be counted but aren't. rt-pcr tests are being done in tiny numbers relative to population and % positive, and in some regions are 45%+ positive with massive backlogs. there will be many missing...

DON'T PANIC.... well, maybe a little bit.

Here's some experiences with the 'healthcare system' in Indonesia. Patient is sick. Patient works in market. BPJS money sent by patient's 1st daughter to patient's 2nd daughter for years. But oops they only paid one month (and stole the rest), so now they have to pay 24 months fees even though...

    Merp renewal

Does anyone know if you get 'two more years' on your renewal? Or does it expire two years from application? E.g., if your re-entry permit expires in October on a KITAP expiring in 3 years from now and you apply now, when will the re-entry permit expire?

Indonesia to cut import duty exemption to $3 ??

AliExpress always come via Kantor Pos and the demand is always 20,000rp from the postman. If you order from Amazon then they pre-calculate customs fees etc. and there is nothing to pay.

I am shock, they want to DEPORTASI my daughter

I suggest you speak to the Indonesian Embassy in Ottawa and ask them to clarify as the language is not clear. Unfortunately most Indonesian laws are ambiguous, poorly drafted and lacking in clarity. Anyway, no it is obviously not the Spanish embassy's job to check if you have the right kind of...

I am shock, they want to DEPORTASI my daughter

I suggest to refer to my post here: https://www.expatindo.org/community/threads/mixed-children-before-1st-august-2006.4712/ The child was Indonesian at birth and obtained an Indonesian passport validly in 2005. The next question is when was Spanish nationality obtained? If this was before...

Indonesia to cut import duty exemption to $3 ??

It's definitely 18.25%, not 17.5%, because you apply BM first. this is clarified here. Unfortunately I do not have anything official about the new tariff, and I find the Indonesian media to be unreliable, so would not 100% bet on anything.
