Change visa / kitas after marriage

I got that information, or rather not information but impression, right here in this forum. I read a lot of posts about converting KITAS --> KITAP to see if I could answer my own questions and I read something to the effect of "There's really nothing KITAP gives you which you don't already have...

Change visa / kitas after marriage

Firstly thank you (again) for the comprehensive answer. I have read here a few times that KITAP gives you nothing that KITAS does not already. Generally that seems quite true, however is the KTP-OA not useful? I do find random things I cannot do because I don't have KTP, but also I don't know...

Change visa / kitas after marriage

I've been in Indonesia on a '2nd home' visa for just over a year, and got KITAS with that visa. The intention is to make Indonesia my long-term home. My partner and I got married a few weeks ago and I'm working out what the best thing to do about visas and KITAS/KITAP is now. I assume I can...

Certificate of non-impediment for a Singaporean to wed

To finish this thread ... Feeling that the local KUA was not as helpful as we would like we decided to do a little jurisdiction shopping and marry in Bali. We found a great wedding coordinator who arranged the fully legal marriage and documented conversion to Islam. Yes we have our Buku Nikah...

Certificate of non-impediment for a Singaporean to wed

You are certainly entitled to that opinion but I feel I have to reply because I quite strongly do not agree. Why should Indonesia not require that everyone has a religion? Countries evolve towards the beliefs of the majority and if the majority feel that faith is part of who you are, why should...

Certificate of non-impediment for a Singaporean to wed

I think option 1 has a good shot and isn't very hard to do. Option 2 is pretty guaranteed but is a longer term one. It would take a few months and at least 2 or 3 trips back to Singapore to get it done which we'd love to avoid. I'm going with option 1 and let's see how far we get

How to determine if a neighbor is stealing electricity?

We had a faulty MCB in our meter. It would trip randomly at low currents, then work for a while, then it would trip 10 times in a night. We spent ages looking for the culprit device and eventually decided it must be the meter and PLN fixed it that day. So do that first.

Certificate of non-impediment for a Singaporean to wed

Yes supposedly they do. They have not been clear what the differences actually are but they ask if you are have a Muslim or non-Muslim marriage and the documents required differ and they said This is I think partly because civil and Muslim marriages (and records) in Singapore are overseen by...

Certificate of non-impediment for a Singaporean to wed

Thanks for this, nice to meet a fellow Singaporean here :). A few questions. You registered with ROM (not ROMM) so does that mean your marriage was not a muslim marriage and both of you are of the same (non-muslim) faith? If your spouse is Muslim and you are not then .. amazed as...

Certificate of non-impediment for a Singaporean to wed

That’s very useful. We are going to hit up the KUA next week and knowing what other people have done in the past helps as we can ask “how about I do this”.

Certificate of non-impediment for a Singaporean to wed

We are (finally) setting a date for our wedding which will be in Indonesia. One requirement is a 'certificate of non-impediment' from me. I'm Singaporean. This is the frustrating language from the official Singaporean site .. "The Consulate-General and the Singapore Registry of Marriages...

Container Shipment from Overseas to Indonesia as KITAS/KITAP Holder

Yes it arrived. I did not get an exemption and was charged tax on 5 items which were singled out for high value tax. That was two bikes, a keyboard, a monitor and a bike work stand. The tax rate was high but they did put pretty low valuations on the bikes so it was bad but nowhere near as bad as...

Container Shipment from Overseas to Indonesia as KITAS/KITAP Holder

I'm trying to work out the rules here also. I want to ship my personal effects out of Singapore to Jogja. I have KITAS, I got it about 5 months ago, but because I changed address the date on my current KITAS is actually late Feb. I have a 2nd home visa so I am NOT working and the company I was...

    Change of address.

.. for anyone following along this still rumbles on. It took FOREVER to get a letter from the kantor sipil RT with my new address, partly because we had only just moved and had to introduce ourselves and partly because I didn't apply enough uang grease initially and only when I followed up did...
