British woman slaps immigration officer for GBP3000 overstay fine.

Er... No thanks.

Perhaps you should.
You claimed the fine in post 7 based on a Sun comic report, now you back that up with post 12 you claim to have worked from.
Are you Doctor Who?

All you'd provided for evidence of your serious defamatory claims of bribery is a newspaper piece we have no idea is an accurate report of the officer's words.

PS - I don't need the translation - Perhaps you forget I'm Indonesian,. or is that just a pathetic attempt to make me look bad - Epic fail there, but you may not be fully aware of the procedure in gaining citizen ship and the fact the process is all in Indonesian. Still, you can try.

So, as I requested, perhaps you could provide proof the officer demanded the bribe you appear to be either claiming or suggesting he demanded based on not much by way of evidence except the Sun newspaper, a comic for the under-educated. If you look at reports of immigration's words in a variety of newspapers around the world, you'll see they differ quite a bit, that suggesting possible difficulties with translation or just plain, old fashioned making stuff up.
I know children believe what they're told without question, but I was rather hoping most adults would be able to manage a little thinking.

Basically, you're talking out of your arse, have no proof, and are grasping at straws in the hope of redeeming yourself ...... unless you can post proof of a crime or attempted crime.

Ah, you can't because you only have newspaper reports with no proven accuracy to work on - I'm unsure hearsay from a comic is acceptable evidence in court, but I suppose it'll do for a forum.

Almost forgot - Keep the proof to yourself because you can now claim substantial rewards for dobbing in a corrupt official - or a criminal record for defamation.
I challenge you to post 'stand up in court' proof, or admit you're basing your argument on a British comic.

For those unaware of Mr. A's evidence, this is the thing he's working from

I'm less than inclined to believe a word in it, but each to his own.

Anyway, back from total and utter bollocks in a 'newspaper' claiming not to be for idiots, I maintain my position the officer concerned deserved his promotion, and the idiotic woman deserves time behind bars.
Perhaps the officer also deserves a little compensation for the dodgy stories going around about him.

And @Fred can now report a bunch of Indonesian newspapers for misquoting the Bali head of immigration.

I said keep it up, but perhaps you shouldn't.
For the record, the story, before having been posted here or in the Sun has been viral on all Indonesian medias and BBC Indonesia which is the way I got aware of it.

For the rest I can rest my case. Your deep in the hole Fred, but that's no news.

From tribunnews:

And

So which is it @Fred? Fake news or an author lost in translation?

Yep - change your story as you go along - That'll work

I will now be a good boy and believe every word I read in the news.

I don't have to change any story, Fred. The words of Amran have been quoted by countless Indonesian source and he did not deny them. It also got broadcasted by MetroTV and most Indonesian channels as early as tgl 31 Juli.

You are just trying to obfuscate. These demands for a fictitious fine or bribery have been reported by all medias, including the Sun. Your try to shift the issue and focus on the Sun is laughable, but no surprise here, knowing you.

I have once been banned from a forum to have called a spade a spade, as per the words of some users at the time, but I realize that it isn't/wasn't necessary. They usually do the job themselves much better than I could ever do. This thread is a good example of it.

I've decided the banned supermod is correct and the papers are all right about the story.
The Sun's 160 days at 19 quid per day is accurate.
Of course the exchange rate for that day shows only 16 quid per day, but I'm sure the exchange rates sites all have it wrong and the Sun is correct.

I also believe the other site when they say she was about to leave at 21.00, even when the ticket the Sun shows says she has to be at the gate for 23.20.

Of course the ticket is wrong as the reporters are, I'm assured, accurate.

Basically, I'm very probably right in my assertion newspapers get things wrong, and anyone who is stupid enough to think newspapers get everything right is an idiot.

The penalty for assaulting a federal officer who is performing his official duty is 8 years in jail. Also, CBP officers carry a gun. It would end badly, or worse, fatal.

Her lawyer cost alone would be several times higher than the fine.

At the actual border check points, aye, they carry guns. I have heard some interesting stories about how some people have tried to cross the Texas/Mexico border in McAllen.

At DFW, Newark, Chicago, Miami, or Atlanta airports, I don't remember seeing any of customs or immigration officers carrying guns. They probably had someone close by who did though.

As for The Sun Newspaper, when I was at univ, most people I knew only bought it for Page 3. I believe The Sun is banned in Liverpool due to their reporting of the Hillsbourgh Disaster in 1989.

PS - I don't need the translation - Perhaps you forget I'm Indonesian,.

An Indonesian from Yorkshire? How peculiar

You might have Indonesian citizenship since you have lived here a long time but you are British by birth I believe?

If he’s the Mas Fred who did not speak a single word of Bahasa 8 years ago, take an ember of salt...
The guy apparently did not even know that, prior to the Sun, all Indonesian medias reported it and he apparently haven't understood the Tribun link in Bahasa Indonesia. It says it all.

Oh no... I forgot... He became an Indonesian citizen which required him to draft a full letter in BI. In his own words the whole procedure was difficult and the tests were hard work and, OMG what a surprise!, all interviews conducted in Bahasa Indonesia. Also, I quote, "many things are considered state secrets". It's so secret that one can do the whole procedure online.

I have assisted a few friends throughout the same procedure and I can't recall them telling me that it was difficult. Some had a level of Indonesian which can be qualified as average, yet they did not find it difficult. I have to say however that all had pretty much anything required to be accepted by their new fellow as such. By this I mean that they are NOT the type swearing, being lewd and calling idiots pretty much anyone with a different view. They have an idea of what sopan santun, an important component of the Indonesian culture and society, means.

Now, one may perhaps wonder why officials would make it difficult for some and not for others. ;)

Didn't speak Indonesian 8 years ago - That's seriously your argument?
Jesus - what a twit.

I think I'll ban myself from this forum as the top limit of your idiotic argument is far lower than my brain can think down to.

Oh, and I've been here 11 years, not 8 - get a maths teacher
