4/11, 25/11 and 2/12 anti-Ahok demonstrations

maybe it's deliberate on behalf of the Gov't so the workers union can whinge to the protest organizers about not being paid for the first rally ...... method in their madness ... :)

There is a U-turn nearby my house in BSD where local kids help with traffic in exchange for a coin.

Today, that U-turn was manned by 3 different people wearing Pemuda Pancasila shirts (black and orange camo pattern) and collecting donations for "Aksi Damai 2 Desember" written on the box.

The AGO is taking Ahok to court.

http://jakartaglobe.id/news/breaking-ahok-blasphemy-case-ready-trial-ago-says/

Jakarta. The Attorney General's Office, or AGO, announced on Wednesday (30/11) it has approved the case dossier on a blasphemy investigation against Jakarta governor Basuki "Ahok" Tjahaja Purnama and will ready the case for trial as soon as possible.
AGO Junior Attorney for General Crimes Noor Rachmad said the case files, locally known as P21, are complete and meet all the requirements to be used in a court trial.

Yes, I just noticed this. What do you think this means? I think it is mainly money and power and religion is being used.

Of course it is. I hope they arrest him on Thursday and that would take away all the reasons they say they are rallying. I'm sure they still will because their agenda is far more then just removing Ahok. FPI smells power and it could be the beginning of the end with whatever Indonesia has accomplished for itself.

Let's put Razieq as mayor of Jakarta! Le'ts go back to stone (stoning?) age!

More seriously, FPi is merely a tool, paid for what they do the best; stirring shit up.

the only proof they have is a know to be falsify video with clear jump of skipped word. If that bring down ahok and, by consequence, strengthen radical muslim, a lot of foreign and their money will leave the country as soon they could.

I think it is a smart move , if it is televised and he is found to be completely in the clear.

I used to think that too but now have shifted my thoughts to him being convicted and jailed. This all to appease the hardliners to keep peace. You just may have a new resident in your confinement area. Any way you look at it, the master planers of all this are winning. Ahok either made unelectable or inprisoned and others move up and take over Jakarta and then the presidency. The hardliners are rewarded with more power and the legislature removes the power of the people in their votes to actually count since they will choose the president. Back to a dictatorship.

Yes , having seen other "fair" trials recently I'm not to optimistic.

It could be a showdown tomorrow....and I have Air Asia tickets Bali-Jakarta on Saturday morning which cannot be changed....:pray2::pray:

good analysis, I hope you are wrong but I am afraid you are right

Yes, Ahok is about to be flushed down the toilet by the people who are really running the country. They do not want honesty/transperancy in government and unfortunately this is what the people will continue to get (I hope I am wrong).

I'm not so sure that the Gov't is as naive as some assume. I think they have a master plan to flush out those persons who are undermining Pancasila and tomorrow might just be a showdown to achieve that.
This President has done all the right things to maintain law and order and, if anyone steps out of line tomorrow, it will give an opportunity to arrest those leaders and then, thru' interrogation, find who are the real actors funding and promoting this treason.
There are many more who wish stability and Pancasila to work than those who oppose it.
Tomorrow it might...:rain:.

The police is expecting 250,000 people joining the demonstration tomorrow.

At the same time, they are in negotiations to move the Worker Unions demonstration to another day.

That may be but the likes of the FPI have already stated their people will be peaceful so anyone breaking the law will immediately be accused of being with someone else. Even if someone should name a leader of some kind, it will be denied and the accuser will be accused of trying to lay blame on the innocent to stir up trouble. pretty much as it's always been.

I hope you are right. I am sure there are a lot more people who prefer Pancasila. The scary part, for me, is not that the gov't is naive but the level of money and corruption behind the scenes. including the courts, business tycoon etc. etc.etc..

I also believe this scenario possible, but not that much.

1- Without people being bussed in, it had nobody to show up at the 25 demo and it was cancel.
2- They need to join with demo about minimal wage for have people for "their demo".
* the Jakarta Post, which I don't trust at all, present it as the union join the Ahok demo. Before I heard the union demo was already planned and it's the anti-Ahok demo who join them. What is the truth???

The mass of population of Jakarta don't give a dam about the accusation toward Ahok, they all know it's false accusation and totaly politic.
The only way Ahok don't win the mayor election is to put him in jail.

I hope Jokowi will be smart enough for make head rolling, because he should perfectly know, if Ahok go in Jail, his own will be the next target right after that.

I hope the police and military crack down extremely hard on these idiots protesting then launch a major investigation into the people behind these "protests" - which are just a mixture of people taken in by a fake, trollish Facebook post and poor people who have been given much needed food and money to join in.

I want to see the organisers named and shamed and thrown in jail with a big jail sentence for treason, which they rightly deserve. They have no place in Indonesia and have majorly disrespected the country and Pancasila.

Ahok will be cleared soon and his support will grow. Jokowi and Ahok plus Indonesia as a whole will be even stronger and continue to grow, while the idiots who participated in these riots are embarrassed and full of shame.

Good morning everyone.

I will be following the events today and will report any useful information in this thread.

The masses are still arriving a Monas, quite a good number already.

It's supposed to go on until after the Friday prayers and I don't think anything will happen before then.

Let's see what happens when it's time to disperse.

In the mean time, it appears KSPI is already out despite negotiations with police to move the protest to another day.
