relocate to indonesia

I was in malang a couple of months because of the mountains. I love hiking. Much traffic though. Yogya is better because they have larger and better roads.
Nice yeah heard good place. Been to Yoga, nice place. My wife is from Trenggalek it's between Blitar and Kediri roughly on the coast - nice place also would perhaps split time between Malang and there in retirement.

Imho , I like peace by my house , anywhere in java is a place of cacophony ,not my taste .

Of the places I've been to in Java probably Semarang was the nicest one. Big roads, not too crowded.
I had a Swedish friend who was in Sweden with his Indonesian wife and for years he was trying to get some kind of job back in Indonesia. But despite having previously lived in Indonesia and able to speak the language he was never able to find anything.
If you don't want to teach, then the only way of getting an office job would be to work for a big company in Sweden and then at some point transfer to their Indonesian branch.

ive never been to semarang. just went through there with bus. maybe ill try next time.

i was in bali, lombok, malang, yogya and bandung.

warning to everyone, avoid bandung at ALL costs. traffic there is MUCH worse than above mentioned cities. i mean there r alot of traffic on all those cities but with bike its manageable. i would never drive car in indonesia and be stuck...

my favorite two places r rinjani/sembalun area in lombok and bromo east of malang. its like scenes from lord of the rings movies.

Bandung traffic is manageable if you know when to travel :) specifically at between 10 and 12 on a Friday and before 10 am on Sat & Sunday - and then depending on the route, between 1 and 2 pm when workers are back in offices and before schools let out- failing that after 11 at night and before 6 in the morning hahahaha.
