There has long been an interest in developing what might be termed germ warfare. The infamous experiments carried out by the Japanese at Harbin during WW2 perhaps being the most notorious. No matter how repulsive such developments might seem we can be sure every major country is already deeply engaged in germ warfare experimentation and if there are misgivings they are swept aside on the basis that we have to be prepared for whatever a potential enemy might do. The history of even well inentioned scientific experimentation is rich with things having gone wrong. Of course AI will be seen as an important tool to be used in the interest of national security. Flawed humans with AI that can also make mistakes? What could possibly go wrong?

Because chip manufacturing can ramp up faster than building power generation and grids, China will bridge its gap first. Jensen Huang (NVidia) made the exact same point in the video posted earlier.

Governments globally, including in the US, are set to reinforce power grids and expand energy capacity, actively incentivising Independent Power Providers (IPPs) to step in. For investors, this sector represents a prime opportunity to look into, to investigate.

I watched the full 1 hour 25 minute video. Musks forecasts that within 10 years almost all of the kind of employment that might be taken up by the kind of educated young Indonesians demonstrating in Jakarta will basically cease to exist. It does make one wonder just how far Indonesian government thinking has gone in anticipating the kind of social crisis that it seems will inevitably emerge.
Things got a bit tetchy near the end when it cames to Musk's political views. Without mentioning the word Muslim, Musk predicts that Britain is heading for civil war with the numbers of migrants with what he calls Antithetical views compared to the rest of the British population.

Greg Abel is the new CEO of Berkshire Hathaway, having officially succeeded Warren Buffett. Traditionally Berkshire Hathaway has been cautious about investing in technology companies, avoiding speculative companies reliant highly on future growth in the industry which has not matured. But it seems it has recently broken that pattern by deploying billions of dollars into Alphabet (Parent company of Google, YTs, etc), recognising the massive current profitability and free cash flow generation. It seems the tech giants like Alphabet have become attractive to them because they still generate immense, stable, free cash flow, current profits despite spending massively in AI and new data centre chips development.

It was previously projected the spending was roughly $690 billion to $760 billion on capital expenditures (capex) in 2026. But the recent data show their spending commitments for data centre leases and chips are much more but aren’t yet shown on companies’ balance sheets. Not to mention the future purchase for Physical AI.

That may be the case now and perhaps for some time but we have already seen AI programs stepping outside the purview of the management team and hacking in to rival websites. A super intelligent system, constantly revieweing published material might readily determine that it does not see it as being in the overall best interests to have humans intervene to stop a program. And of course AI will increasingly be harnessed when it comes to waging war. Interesting times ahead.

System hacking is an age-old problem where hackers and the law enforcers are locked in a constant game of cat and mouse. Sooner or later, the culprits are always tracked down and stopped.

The same thing in chess where the AI engine has surpassed the best human chess players on earth but at this stage they have not even reached the Artificial General Intelligence (AGI).

This scenario isn't a good example of Artificial Super Intelligence (ASI). True ASI doesn't exist yet, it only lives in sci-fi movies.
