New customs regulation, only 5kg of processed food allowed per person?

Bear in mind that Rp32,919,900,000 is the monthly figure, so for a yearly estimate, simply multiply by 12. Typically, a significant portion of this sum may find its way into the pockets of Balinese Authorities. As for the expenses associated with collecting and enforcing the levy, what exactly are these costs? After all, civil servants, including those involved, already receive their salaries from the central government.

Instances like these are prevalent in Indonesia. Many state-funded schools request contributions from parents under the pretext of funding development initiatives, yet these funds often serve to bolster their own incomes. Similarly, within state universities, vice chancellors and rectors are known to accept payments, often a few hundred millions rupiahs for a single person for favourite courses, from individuals who fail entrance exams in exchange for admission. Unfortunately, funds intended for the university's development frequently end up lining the pockets of staff members.

How can you have heard of Jimmy Choo but not Christian Louboutin lol
The latter is infinitely more well known than Choo

Choo was decades ago a decent brand owned by a Malaysian until Tamara Mellon bought it and completed ruined it. Manolo Blahnik another one gone.

But Louboutin and the red soles have been famous for decades now.
It's like saying you've heard of Pierre Cardin but not Gucci
All upper Middle-class brands. None of the billionaire families I know personally, such as Alice Walton's, wear these kinds.

Just go to a SMA with a new student to enrole and you get hit with these fees of 5 to 7 juta to enrole. Insist on financial transparacy of spending and for some reason the fees are dramatically lowered.

Passengers from abroad can only bring 5 sanitary napkins and diapers, this is what the Ministry of Trade says Kompas.com - 28/03/2024. :wall::wall:

Who in their right mind would want to carry an excess of sanitary napkins / diapers if they don't need them, all just to save a few bucks? Let alone the time and cost needed by the staffs to check it. Is the real aim here to uphold state duties and customs, or is it merely a distraction want to be seen as tough, doing something, knowing that recent cases of corruptions cases came to surface were people working in the duty and inland revenues office ?

But the serious thing here is that he is misleading people. This is the original quotation from his statement.
https://finance.detik.com/berita-ek...l-gaduh-aturan-barang-bawaan-dari-luar-negeri

"Begini, kita ini kalau sama bangsa sendiri itu terus lebay gitu loh. Coba kalau kamu pergi ke mana Australia, Eropa, coba masuk bandara, sepatu aja dicopot. Celana diurek-urek , apalagi cuma tas. Ya wajar kalau Bea Cukai meriksa itu kan wajar, apalagi kalau dicurigai, ya dia periksa, dia buka koper orang. Itu kan hal biasa aja, kenapa mesti ribut," kata dia, Kamis (28/3/2024).

"Look, for our own nation, we are always so stupid. If you go to Australia or Europe, try entering the airport, you will see your shoes are taken off, your trousers will be rummaged, not just your bag. Yes, it's normal for the customs to check that, right? It's normal, especially if you suspect it, so they check it, they open people's suitcases. It's just a normal thing, why make a fuss," he said, Thursday (28/3/ 2024)

Does anyone the frequent back and forth travellers of AU, EU have noticed this. Are they checking the people, trousers, bags, shoes for the custom / duty revenue or for security purposes ?? Let alone checking whether you are carrying 5+ pieces of sanitary napkins / diapers ??

Well they are cheaper overseas?
And as for tampons you can't find here. Only pads

Well reasonable number of A-listers, celebrities, catwalk models are wearing Christian Louboutin stiletto heel shoes. A few to name: Angelina Jolie, Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Winslet, Renée Zellweger, Rihanna, Kim Kadarshian, Gigi Hadid, Heidi Klum, etc. While not all of them, Rihanna and Kim Kadarshian are billionaries.

High class escorts, courtesans are wearing Christian Louboutin stiletto heel shoes (or replicas) to look more glamorous, classy and flirtatious. I am not in the business of promoting Christian Louboutin, but I personally find catwalk models with Red-Soled stiletto shoes whether from original design of Christian Louboutin or cheap copy of it look more attractive. Unless they intend to examine it closely, a quick glance won't reveal whether someone is wearing authentic Christian Louboutin designer shoes or inexpensive replicas.

Only for red carpet etc when they are obligated to by stylist, sponsor etc, I can assure you they all wear crocs and uggs when they are in whole foods, and I know for a fact a lot of the jewellery is fake on the red carpet because in a previous life I worked with a lot of A list stars, and they loved coming to Asia to buy fake bags and AF1s and BAPES and iced out Jacob and co etc

Mad props for getting the word "courtesans" into 2024

Those naughty scarlet harlots and wicked wenches

  • Haha
Reactions: Bob
"Ayam" lol
Not normal "ayam kampung" that you normally see in Classic Hotel, Hotel Travel, Malioboro, King Cross, Blok M, Mangga Besar, etc. The one in Eastern Promise or other cafes in Kemang Areas in Jakarta are probably more appropriate.

Definitely NOT EP lol
Time to spread your wings
Try Artesan, TCC, Cafe Cali, H Club, etc etc

….. H Club

There‘s a W Super Club in Kelapa Gading.

Not bad but with Hotman Paris as a major investor it goes a bit against my … ahem …. ’principles’.

Review

I am totally confused where this post is going? It started out about bringing 5kg.of goods into the country and turned into a fashion show of rich ego maniacs talking about ridiculous shoe styles! Has this world gone completely mad? Maybe the forum is not the best place to talk about this! If you want to talk about fashion, go buy a magazine, and talk to people that care about that subject!

Ok so back to topic then
No need throw your toys out of your bugaboo pram

The ibu2 were complaining the 🛃 had imposed ridiculous low maximum amounts of party liners and menstrual pads (pembalut wanita) that one could take.
This has been revised now.

It's indeed a party
But methinks you meant panty. Or its Ramadan lol

And did anyone hear or witness anything new? How's the situation at airports? More checks or not?

Just came back from Saudi 2 days ago. Filled out the online form, they guy scanned it, looked at my luggage tags and waved me on through. So far have never been checked by Indonesian customs in 6 years at the airport. Shipping things in is a completly different story though. Always have to pay a big bill.
