Im still wrapping my head around visas and what not.

Once we are settled in, is it difficult/frowned upon to start the process of getting a work visa for my wife (EU Passport).

Your wife can only get a work visa if an Indonesian company hires her and sponsors her. The difficulty of this could range from easy to very difficult...

Unfortunately there is no work visa for her that can be derived from your visa.

Hello I have some questions about the new 2019 spousal visa. Do I really need a letter from my embassy which is the Canadian, recognizing my marriage. We were married in Hong Kong two years ago and have the marriage registered with the HK government and the Indonesian Embassy and we also have the local Indonesian registration. My Indonesian friends have searched through the requirements for Vitas and can find no reference to this document from the Canadian Embassy. It will be almost impossible for me to get this letter due to a messy divorce 20 years ago. Any help in this would be appreciated.
Also what exactly is a "stamped embarkation card" which I must have a copy of for my trip to Singapore to get my visa. Thanks....James

But when you got married in HK, you also had to prove your were divorced/single, right?

This is their law: Before getting married, you have to submit sufficient evidence for your marital status. If you are divorced, you need to provide a sealed certified copy of the court’s final divorce decree, translated into English if necessary. So your Canadian civil registry should have provided this and/or a letter of non-impediment.

If you travel to Singapore, you get a card on the plane you need to fill in. This embarkation card is currently being replaced by an electronic version btw.
