Why prescribe less than noble intentions to the 'many' muslims, but give the 'many' Westerners the benevolent attitude ?

I lived there for four years, also worked with several Saudis while working for two Saudi companies, bit of an eye opener at times, always treated well, but I cannot say everyone is treated well

And for the record, I have not lived there. But having some friends who have lived and worked they, and they tell me the ordinary Saudi are very friendly, kind and welcoming. (one of them is a Canadian female)

Now, I am not saying all of Saudi culture is like that, just that we should question some of our beliefs, particularly if they come from sensationalist media outlets....

Clearly you missed the tone of my message then.

I'm ok with few, I'm also ok with some. But I am not ok as treating any group of people as a non-identity with borg like motivations, feelings and aspirations. We are all different.

The people to avoid in SA are the religious police, it's the religious police who stop women driving, many young Saudis would like a greater freedom to mix an enjoy themselves as in the west, for the young there is absolutely nothing to do, for young males just drive their cars around at high speed killing themselves, and the girls nothing to do.
When the new Carrefore supermarket opened there was a wide space between the tills and exit, the young girls took to promenading up and down, it's quite weird being chatted up by someone totally covered, but you can see enough of the face to see they are very pretty, eventually the sharia police got wind of this and arrested all the girls, took the gold off them so the fathers had to collect it, the fathers were then warned to keep their daughters in check.
Being a westerner has many advantages, but being what was called a 3rd World National i.e. Pakistani, Thai , Indonesian philipino, life could be quite grim,
