What the Hell is Going On?

President Jokowi is visiting Lampung today.

There are rumors that the trip was brought forward a couple of days and that on the spot the president requested to take another route as foreseen….

I haven't heard which route he took but I wouldn't be surprised if he veered off the original route laid out for him.

TVRI Lampung was showing a lot of people waiting for his arrival along roads desperately in need of repair/replacing in areas where the governor didn't have his rush repairs done.

The governor was out the day before in a helecopter looking at his progress. That brought quite a bit of ridicule for the picture of avoiding residents. Yesterday he was at one place with a nice shiny new road covered in thin asphalt. Big photo op. Bandar Lampung city had an emergency meeting with all sub district heads on where road repairs need to take place ASAP.

Jokowi had stated that in the smaller poorer areas where roads need repair and there is no money available for them that the National Government will come in and do the repairs. The residents are saying, "wait,what? Where is the money that was budgeted before?" They seem to keep finding one can of worms after another and are enjoying opening them.

Bet the Governor is freaking out too. Didn't take his recommended route. Couldn't show off his pretty new thin covering that they claimed they spent 750,000,000,000 rupiah on. Maybe the residents are not too happy but someone is.
