What didn't you bring here that you wish you had...?

Actually now that I think of it....my wine cooler. I was just at Best Denki....a small, 12 bottle capacity wine cooler was selling for Rp.6 Million! Yikes.

They're lower-increment weight plates used in weight training. They'll typically come as 0,25kg, 0,5kg, 1kg, 1,25kg and on up. They're extremely useful if you train a lot.

Thanks for the explanation. Not surprising I had no idea what they were. Upper body stuff is a road less traveled for me.

Did you make those just for this occasion?

Seriously, it has about half-a-dozen small grosir of magic tricks. Well worth a visit for amateur magicians. Mostly just cheap Chinese imports, but some good stuff. Can't comment on the quality of the vibrators. Sex toys are among the most commonly confiscated items by Customs and Excise, along with airsoft guns and booze. Some of the booze is sometimes destroyed for the cameras, but what happens to the sex toys? We almost never see them displayed at press conferences. The exception being here: http://www.jatimtimes.com/baca/143973/20160603/173754/bea-cukai-pastikan-semua-sex-toys-ilegal in East Java, where various officials are proudly holding up the confiscated goods. The photo is safe-for-work, though one official appears to be holding what may be a small blue butt-plug (alas, I'm no expert on these matters).

I've been there a few times... didnt notice the sex shop, tho many magic outlets are there. Theres a nice chinese restaurant next to an affordable massage/reflexy place there.

My wife says gummie candies. In the US she woukd by good quality candies in 3 pound bags for $6.00. The labeling stated made in Indonesia. Get here and they are Rp270,000 a kilo and made somewhere else.

Indonesian carbonated beverage selection sucks. It's funny that they hold on to Pepsi Blue which only lasted in the USA for a year or two at most. I miss my Wild Cherry Pepsi, Cherry Coke, Mountain Dew, and all the other great artificial flavors filled with sugar.

Hey wait a sec...maybe its better that it's not available. less likely to become diabetic right?

How about Diet Pepsi? You can find Diet Coke which I don't think is produced here but nowhere can you find Diet Pepsi. Then again, they don't contain sugar so may not be popular what so ever. Mountain Dew is a Pepsi product and full of sugar so I am surprised you don't see it on the shelves here.

The Ikea in BSD (?) has a pseudo Target-ish feel to it. I would've gone there more if traffic weren't so horrible.

Banana, I have been in a few Ikeas and I just can't relate them to any Target I have been in. Ikea is more warehouse style with displays.

Never was able to find Diet Pepsi during the time I was in Indonesia. Ditto Diet Dr. Pepper, my all time favorite carbonated drink!

Grand Lucky has Dr Pepper

Ah ha. I did some checking and they just did a bunch of changing of bottlers and trademark owners. The US is Dr Pepper Snapple now. Cadbury- Schweppes licences to Pepsi in some places but bottles their own primarily in Europe. Of course, Asia is Coca Cola but only found in very limited supplies. Like Grand Lucky I guess.

It used to be dr Pepper/Seven Up. Another brand you don't seem to find here.

My wife was quite put out with IKEA, we went to buy some wall lamps and a few other bits, she was quite horrorfied to find it was all made in China and not Sweden, she was not going to buy, but I told most other stores would be Chinese so while we are here we will buy it, had a bit of a sulk, but she's over it now

It is very hard to compare any large retailer located in Indonesia to their namesakes in Western countries. IKEA Indonesia is nothing like the IKEAs in the West just as ACE Indonesia is nothing like ACE USA. ACE Indo is nothing but a price gouging Kris store. IKEA an outlet for the prettier Chinese procucts with a few European products tossed in.

Comparing prices, it is in all likelihood the shipping cost and taxes on the procucts coming in that limit them and cause the overpricing to the consumers.

Shipping and taxes/import fees certainly add to the pricing. But from what I have seen in ACE, it is no excuse. They are grossly overpriced no matter what the add ons are, and in my opinion very shoddy products for the most part. I really can't understand how they stay in business.

The Kampung Wealth Image. Oh, I bought this at Ace. Look at me.
