What didn't you bring here that you wish you had...?

I am also a bit of a tool nut, I had a very impressive range of both contraction and mechanics tools. When I left the UK to go back packing around Australia I put them into storage in my dads garden shed - one thing led to another (as it usually does) and after being away 20 years I was visiting my parents in the UK, Dad decided to have a sort out of the shed "to see what I wanted to keep" after 20 years in a damp leaky shed they had all turned to a lump of solid rust. Totally heartbreaking as I had built the collection up over years and it cost a lot of money. Heartbreaking because we ended up throwing 98% of it away.
what a sad (for blokes) story .., I am aware of that .., mine are locked in many toolboxes , that are in a locked big builders trailer, that is locked inside dry garage .., and everything in the toolboxes has been drenched with WD40 to be on the safe side. The only thing though is I'm guessing all the 'batteries' for the cordless gear (mainly a few drills and nail guns) will be kaput after not getting a regular charge . Some are Nickel metal , and some are Lithium batteries.
I can't wait for day i can get a big shed again (with also an open but roofed area with lots of work beanch areas) , a missus free zone where i can build things , weld things, hot rod things , and tinker to my hearts content.

You guys seem to have missed my, obviously unfunny, transgender toilet controversy in some US States. Search and be informed....I'm not talking about a toilet that both genders use...what's amusing about that.

I am also the proud owner of one of those kiddy saws, which seems incapable of cutting in a straight line
hahahaha .., Now I feel better that it's not just me .., I used to say a tradesman cannot BLAME his tools ..., but over here i think it is fair to say he can LOL.

Give us some credit, Davita. I know exactly what you are talking about and I bet other posters do too. No Googling required. "Gender" encompasses everyone, cis-gendered or transgendered. I stand by my words.

A few years ago I was very lucky to get a Harmon Kardon amp and JBL 5.1 speakers with powered subwoofer for about 70% off from Electronic City. They had some special sale and I just happened to walk in and I got it. Same with my 43" LG Plasma TV it was listed at 11jt and I got it for 4jt (this is about 5 years ago and Plasma was still the thing).

ACE Hardware for HEX Keys.

I don't know where to get the fractional plates.

Is Home Depot selling pizza now?

Not at the location I frequent the most, but a Costco is just next door. And Costco offers a good slice of pizza, or hotdog or brat for a bargain price.

I got my Yamaha 7.1 system here(mix'n'math speakers) but had no room in the box for the sub. Still looking to get one

What are "fractional plates?"

That's a good price. I used to have a great setup (Harmon Kardon receiver, Infinity and JBL speakers), but I sold it piece by piece as I thought I'd never have any use for it again. I wish I hadn't, but I did.

And I'll stand by the urinal in your guest bathroom....:heh:

Good towels, sheets and shower curtains are expensive and/or hard to find. I miss Target in the US terribly.

I think every single American expat lady I've met, when asked what store she misses most, instantly responds Target.

Another tool nut here. I sold my bigger stuff and most of the electric saws etc but could not bear to part with my Craftsman pro drill. Most of my mechanical tools came with me in the vague hope anewspaper may need a service guy..... I am also the proud owner of one of those kiddy saws, which seems incapable of cutting in a straight line

For those seeking non-crappy tools a cut above the Ace Hardware Krisbow range, then visit Lindeteves trade center mall in Glodok (Jakarta). Has a lot of cheap crap but also has good European stuff too. And plenty of the vendors will tell you "No, this is cheap Chinese junk, if you want strength and durability, buy this German one that costs x-much more."

And for frustrated women or flaccid men seeking vibrators, you can find them in Mangga Dua Square mall. It's also the best place in Jakarta to buy magic tricks.

There is something rather ... satisfying ... about reading those two sentences together :)

Seriously, it has about half-a-dozen small grosir of magic tricks. Well worth a visit for amateur magicians. Mostly just cheap Chinese imports, but some good stuff. Can't comment on the quality of the vibrators. Sex toys are among the most commonly confiscated items by Customs and Excise, along with airsoft guns and booze. Some of the booze is sometimes destroyed for the cameras, but what happens to the sex toys? We almost never see them displayed at press conferences. The exception being here: http://www.jatimtimes.com/baca/143973/20160603/173754/bea-cukai-pastikan-semua-sex-toys-ilegal in East Java, where various officials are proudly holding up the confiscated goods. The photo is safe-for-work, though one official appears to be holding what may be a small blue butt-plug (alas, I'm no expert on these matters).
