What is rather interesting about the currently ‘most popular artists’ as Nicole, Brian and also Warren Hue, is that they are from Chinese Indonesian backgrounds.

And that in fact -even if they were born and grew up here- they moved right away and really kick started (or built) their careers in the US.

Like Agnis Mo.

The American record label 88rising plays a big role in this. Mainly signing Asian artists.

The comments on their artists are they are somewhat preoccupied with white Americanness. Which is not surprising if you see the background of the Indonesian artists; born in Jakarta, schooled in international or national+ private schools, from a Chinese family where many already have studied abroad.
