Trump has abandoned Ukraine and is abandoning the EU and as threatened before, will pull out of NATO. Ukraine will rally the EU for support and keep on fighting while draining Russia's finances. It was Russia that kept saying WWIII but now trump is repeating it. Thing is, if there is a WWIII, you can thank the persons that could have avoided it. The Putin/Trump tag team.

The Ukraine war origin goes back to 1991, at the collapse of the USSR. NATO should have been disband at that moment, as it's "ennemy" didn't exist anymore.
Instead of that (and against the advice of many congressman) the US government started it's expansion to the East.
It is pretty well explained in Brezinsky's "The grand chessboard"
And on top of that don't forget NATO is one of the US greatest arms dealer...
Next was the Orange revolution
After that the Maidan coup d'etat, with the help of the CIA and the loud claims about integrating UKR in NATO.
One can understand that Putin started to get nervous.
What would the US say if Mexico or Canada made a military alliance with China ?
The Minsk agreement were a diversion, Merkel and F.Hollande admitted it later.
End 2021 Putin send some proposals to the US for an agreement to avoid a conflict.
The US in its great arrogance didn't even answer.
3 Weeks after the invasion, peace talks started in Istanbul. An agreement was found.
But UK's madman, BOJO, mandated by the US told Zelinsky not to sign it.
Result : Russia is stronger than before, Ukraine is wrecked country, several hundred thousand people have died or are disabled for life.
Trump is the first one in 3 years trying to organize a truce and a peace agreement.
But no, the Ukranian comedian need to insist.
And France / U.K. are on his side, continuing a massacre of which the outcome is already sealed.

He plans all these tarrifs and continues to tell his followers that the exporting nations pay them which is a bold faced lie. The Importers pay them. Tarrifs go to the US government while the tarrifs get incorporated into cost to manufactures and end consumers. People need to look at tarrifs as another tax the government is collecting from them. In an isolated nation, it is always the people who suffer and this will be no different.

On this I fully agree with you.
Trade wars based on tariffs are stupid, it's the end user who pays them.

Countries have no friends, only self interest.
Alliances can be made and unmade according to the interest/policy of the moment.
It is simple as that.
All in the name of National Interest or National Security.

Just for record, I am bowing out of this discussion. No, I don't wear a MAGA hat but I do support at least some of the things Trump is trying to do this time around. While I enjoy a good debate and have had couple on this thread they are mostly my cousins, mom said that she heard from her brother that Trump said so and so and is littered with satire reports from The Borowitz Report given as if they are actual news. When Trump does something stupid, as he always does, I'm sure my opinion will change. I will stay active in other threads but I am losing all interest in this one.

Of course I support Peace talks! What is happening now is not being done in a unilateral way, where members of the EU, Ukraine, Russia, and the US, are all sitting together working out any details, on an End to this Invasion! There is no need for a cease fire. There is a need for Russia to leave Ukraine!
And why should Ukraine give Trump access to the Rare Earth Minerals from Ukraine? Don't forget, The US sent Weapons built in the US, not Money. The money went to the US!
He lies about how much military aid was sent. He says 350$ Billion, when it actually a little over 100$ Billion. Also he lied about Europe paying less. They actually gave more, and it was not a loan, as He lies about.
I watched that Debacle! It wasn't an interview. It was a spectacle of two Bullies, that wouldn't let a Foreign President speak! There was never a mention of Peace talks.
Trump and Vance would have never spoken that way to Putin! They are destroying 80 years of diplomacy to stop Imperialism! It is obvious now, that Europe, Ukraine, or any other nations in the Free world cannot depend on The US Anymore!

I agree about Nato not disbanding. Maybe it was a good idea to expand, to be stronger against Russia as you see what is happening now! Also Trump is not organizing a Truce, or Peace deal. He is capitulating to Putin and agreeing to whatever Putin wants, He will not admit Russia invaded Ukraine, and he wants Russia to keep the lands from Ukraine they stole. Plus, He has the Nerve to ask Ukraine to give Half of their Rare Earth minerals for perpetuity! For money that was Spent in America making weapons!
Why not Stop the War in Gaza, Also, and ask for the Billions of Dollars given to Israel to be Returned!

Without NATO there would have been no war in Ukraine.
European troops wouldn't have died in Afghanistan where NATO had no business at all to begin with.

Please explain how NATO is responsible for the War in Ukraine? I heard Russia invaded it? And I agree there should have been No Troops in Afghanistan . American, Russian, European, or Afghani Troops! What was that all about anyway? Weren't the Russians fighting there for a long time before the Americans, and Europeans, came? I'm sure the Afghani's didn't want any of them coming there.
I remember the 70's when all I heard from about Afghanistan was Masar El Sharif, where really tasty, Smoke came from. And the Same about Lebanon! With the tasty Blonde and Red Puff Daddy! Then those Horrible Wars came and screwed up a good thing!

Not only is Trump going to make America great again but it is a new dawn and this will be the greatest civilization in all of history. No mention of how the six hundred thousand odd homeless and mentally unwell people will fit into this. Now acknowledging that there will be some difficulties but skating over the way prices and inflation will increase with all these new tariffs on imports. All these great things to be achieved in just four years. Evidently this was the longest State of the Union speech ever made.

More than painful, astonishingly Boring! All he does is boast about he is the source of all Creation! If something has been done or accomplished, os because of Him. I just don't know how the World existed before he came along.
I even heard a Woman on Fox news say. He should be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize!
