Travel plans are, of course, up in the air. (or more appropriately, "possibly grounded.")
The Indonesian Foreign Minister has issued a statement that visa "applicants must provide a health certificate issued by a relevant health authority from their respective countries..." I can get a certificate indicating I am healthy, w/o COVID-19 symptoms, and up to date on vaccinations. The statement does not specifically state that you have to have a negative virus test result. It will be problematic if the virus test turns out to be part of the certification; test kits, thanks to bungling by the Trump administration, are in short supply and rationed to those displaying symptoms. I am hoping that in a few weeks the kits will be abundant enough for persons needing to confirm they are virus free to get tested ... or that getting tested is not required as part of the certification.
As far as I know the ANA-UAL is still flying and will honor our tickets booked months ago; but that could change, as well.
If these hurdles can be traversed, we are in Jakarta at the end of May.
