Who says pensioner's life is boring ?
Ok, shower and off to the airport and a well deserved beer !

Pound cake, a little bit to "tight", but the taste is great (I added vanilla and rum..😁😁)

And yesterday dinner, tuna steak with sarladaise potatoes.
Sarladaise style means fried in duck fat.

Yesterday's dinner, pork blanquette. Served with Basmati rice.

This time I prepared it in a little bit different way.
Mainly, instead of adding the cooking cream "as is" I whipped it up to make it more consistent. Added to the broth it give a more onctuous sauce.
This dish is not "fast food", from mise en place to finish count 3h minimum. We started at 14:30 to be ready for dinner.

Sorry, But that Gray runny Sauce, doesn't look appealing at all! It needs to look White and Thick! With a sprinkling of chopped Parsley on top, for some color! The yellow Basmati rice does look nice Though!
I'm sure the flavor is delicious! 👍🤷🏼‍♂️🧄🧅🥦🫛

I worry more about how a dish tastes, not if it has parsley sprinkled on top.
Agreed, but a little effort on the presentation is nice, and I could do a little effort on the plating.
In my case, it is a one pot preparation, and I added the chive in the pot.
Should have added a bit parsley for the picture.
The cream is not perfectly white probably because I fried the mushroom. I should have whiten them by boiling them in water with lemon juice.
Anyway, waiting for the grumpy old man's pictures......

Well I was able to post that dinner I made with Pan seared Salmon, Mashed Potatoes, And stir fried Vegetables! I've got something in mind, that I will make. Soon!
I live by myself, so I'm not inspired to do much gourmet cooking. But, Thank you, for posting so many delicious meals. I really liked that meal you made with the Salmon in a loaf. Salmon Wellington, maybe? Please keep it up. Maybe it will inspire others to do the same! I'm sure there are some excellent cooks out there.
Maybe someone can make some Indonesian food look good! So Far, I haven't been very impressed by Indonesia cooking! I'm sure there are some people that can do a very good job with it! 👍✌️🙏

Which Grumpy Old Man? This one will post something soon! I bought a Garlic Chive plant at Grand Lucky, and it's growing very well here! It's the Chive plant with flat leaves, not round! Lately there has been too much rain! I've been having to bring my garden pots under the roof. I just lost an Oregano, and Thyme plant to the Weather! My Thai Basil are struggling!
This Topic is a Great one! No Politics, Visa Paperwork, Etc. Food, and Cooking is something, we can All agree, we Love! 👍🥳🧄🥦
