I have tried to pass the test in Jakarta.
The theory was a little bit tricky, and I passed the theory on the second try. Among other questions, the test had a crossroad to solve, and if you do not pay attention, you would not notice that one street is wider-main, and the other is smaller, choosing the wrong answer and dragging your points, which happened to me the first time.
I tried to pass the practical test 3 times. It involved going back and forward with the car, going zigzag forward through small pylons for I think 50 or more meters, and going back zigzag through the same pylons (I almost came to the end but touched the pylon). It is almost impossible to do the test unless you do not master the Toyota Rush which is the official vehicle.
The practical test has 2 groups of people, the one coming from driving schools that have paid their way, and the group of enthusiasts that do not want to pay (obviously for moral reasons), and they were separated.
It is an industry designed for collecting fees.
