At the moment it seems William Lai is leading with the Taiwan elections. His position is that Taiwan is independent and is not about to rush into an agreement along the lines of One Country Two Systems. Looking at a number of surveys it has been shown that most Taiwanese do not trust China especially after the heavy handed take over of Hong Kong. This issue looks like remaining a hot one for the immediate future. It seems probable that at some point in the not too distant future China is likely to act much more forcibly to bring about integration.

To complicate things, he doesn't have the majority in parliament.

Let's see Uncle Xi's reaction....

For anybody who doubt to who belongs Taiwan..... Short but precise.

Note that it matches this (very interesting) book on the origin of Taiwan

As China consolidates its power position throughout the world it seems just a matter of time before there is a takeover of Taiwan. Were that to succeed without a war with the US and China then went on to have its claims in the South China Sea accepted I cannot help but wonder if the time will come when China may make a move to incorporate Singapore given that there is evidence of Chinese commercial activity going back at least 700 years.

I believe many Singaporean Chinese have a great deal of admiration for the Chinese mainland. Though this may not presently leave them disposed to become part of a greater China this position may change in the not too distant future.

For Taiwan I can see a take over in 2027, year of the 100th anniversary of the P.L.A.
I can see it "peacefully" through election "manipulation" ?

Note that the KMT (pro-China) has a slight majority in Parliament.

Presidential elections in 2028

For SGP, I wouldn't dare to do any forecast.
SGP, and HKG, are at the moment very convenient for China on financial and currency matters

Well, there is archaeological evidence of Chinese presence in Sarawak and Sabah going back to the 7th century and perhaps beyond. Ultimately it comes down to the disposition of a dominant power and how far they are prepared to push. Zionist extremists look back 2000 years in asserting that Israel had included modern Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, the Palestinian territories and some small adjoining areas near Egypt and Iraq. At the moment they seem to be going hell for leather towards recreating that greater Israel. And it also seems obvious that Russia really wants to re-incorporate all those former members of the USSR which are now independent or quasi independent.
