Slow KITAS Applications

Hello All
i have my HR person at work trying to get a new KITAS. Its taken almost 6 weeks so far and still don't have the IMPA.
Is anyone else have a very slow time getting KITAS? is it because the new online system or just the fact we are handling our self?
Last few KITAS last year we where able to get in about 2 weeks.

The last kitas I got from my employer took around 8 weeks from start to finish. However, I know of some unfortunate souls who have waited up to 10 months.

If this new online system takes 10 months i will pack up and move the factory to China! They are doing well to stamp out corruption now just need any productivity.

Are you already passed the renewal date? My HR person starts working on the renewal about 2 months before the due date and happily there have been no delays.
I had an agent helping us before who was doing some dodgy stuff (we didn't realize at the time), once with him I had no KITAS and thus overstayed my visa for nearly 60 days. We had to pay quite a lot of money to the immigration.
New agent = no delays.

Yes i know that feeling having the company of my very own immigration office down to Jakarta then walking into the international airport with him. We are doing the hole application without agent only threw our HR department. We to had had bad experiences paying way to much for KITAS. This KITAS was for a new college coming in so i can get home for a while. This is why I'm getting so frustrated.

I also think this is perhaps dreamboy's problem. Doggy, lazy as f...k agent who f..k his job. (I apologize for my language)

My advice dreamboy: take matters into your hands before they will spin out of control. I hope the agent will somehow managed to get your kitas done. Then verify all documents from the folder is they are ok. Try another agent next time.

This time we are doing with my new HR person in-house no agent for application! that's why i don't know if this is the new system or our HR not performing? Last year my agent didn't use the online application so don't know if this is the new normal. It was done in 4 weeks but did cost total 5K

Many HRs have no clue about KITAS(P) process and they outsource it to 3rd party like agents. Then they (HR) are loosing control over the applications, documentation, updates ect. ... in overall if all is done well and as it should.
Many agents are doing it the way ... "they don't care" after the first time 5 star service because ... some documents are missing or hard to get, or promised to be delivered "next time" to gov. official (with the corruption fee which the agent failed to pay) for the next application and then they bind you to their remarkable services for undoing all "their own mistakes".

I wouldn't mind to pay the agent's fee is they would be:
- done on time
- no docs missing
- no messed up applications
- no multiply visits and waiting times in gov agencies places
- no "outrageous" fees 10-50% is ok from the base application eg. kitap 10 jt +/1-5 jt for the agent's service but not 70-80 jt.
Agents also don't take any blame if something wrong will go with your application and it is up to you to make sure it is done right.

Yes you can only laugh and think what the place would be if all the Expats left! its no longer what i would call cheep to manufacturer here with very much a 2 tier economy so its got to be productive.

Well 10 months is the longest I've heard of in my short time here. In my own case, kitas's from my employer took 10 and 8 weeks. Now I'm on a spouse sponsored kitas which is much easier.

Yes you're right. Plenty of other places to set up shop where things are much more straight forward and where your investment, skills and presence are welcome in the country.

Depends what is your job / position etc on your IMTA? Teacher? Or director of a multi national, also the "clout" of the sponsor, even the agent if good can get things done quicker

I just got my KITAS back, from start to finish I think less than 6 weeks total, the agent had the started around Xmas, got the Imta the 2nd week of Jan, I flew on 18 Jan, and this week she already returned my passport, kitas, merp STK etc etc etc tax card and all the gubbings, so that also included a couple of holidays, Xmas, NY, even my agent had a few days off here and there. I only went once to Immigration for fingerprints and signing, she did all the rest.

My agent is very good but she doesn't charge a lot compared to others

So depends really on your own circumstances, I can't see why it should take more than 6-8 weeks max unless your agent is crap or you haven't supplied all the papers?
If all the paperwork is correct there is never any delay, it is all online now and very fast and trackable at every step, even online you can check how up to date your application is

I'm not trying to argue anything snpark but the redded line above needs some explanation....how did you manage to fly out on the 18th Jan without a merp and apparently return (this week) without a passport and kitas/merp.... which you say was issued after you returned?

You have to "fly out" to get your KITAS in a different country if you were already in Indonesia on a visit visa.
