My lifetime Kitap states a reporting date of May 7 so I went to kantor imigrasi Bandung mid april .The following are the forms and docs required :Surat Permohonan ,surat Jaminan , pernyataan integrasi ,copy KTP istri/sponsor copy KK istri akte lahir penjamin istri ,my pasport and Kitap + copy ,my KTP and KK ,copy buku nikah . So from what I remember these are basically the same forms and docs as for my Kitap 5 years ago . I also paid 1,750.000 Rp for the 2 yr MERP .I went back 3 days later for fingerprint and photo and was told to come back the following week to pick up my new Kitap . So far so good . But this Kitap states " expiry date " while me previous Kitap stated "reporting date ". I also read in one of the threads of this forum Atlantis saying that he didn t get a Kitap card but just an Itap stamp in his passport when he did the reporting last year. But the petugas in Bandung Imigrasi told me that this is impossible and that she is doing this already several years !! Atlantis can you reconfirm that you didn t get the Kitap card ? Any comment/advice is welcome .

Did you pay anything for the KITAP or just the MERP? The new KITAP has an expiry date in 2027?

No I didn t pay anything for the Kitap just the MERP and yes the new Kitap has an expiry of
May 2027 , not a reporting date

UU 6 Tahun 2011
Pasal 59
The law is very clear that there is to be no expiration, but reporting every 5 years is required. Although it appears to me they have handled yours incorrectly, as long as they don't make you pay I can't think of any practical difference in your KITAP stating an expiration versus a reporting date.

I agree with you but I am also intrigued by Atlantis comment that he didn t even received the KITAP card only the Itap stamp in his passport .

I understand a new KITAP is issued to you, did they stamp a new Stay Permit in your passport?

I hope they will not ask you to pay for your new KITAP when it "expire" in 2027.

Dave you made a good point here so I indeed have an Itap stamp in my passport but now I realise that the Itap stamp says "date to report " !!It is in my opinion contradictory with "the expiry date " in my Kitap .

I didn't know cards were still done, my understanding is the official documentation is the stamp in the passport and a PDF document with a QR code.

Well this is my experience so it would be nice if someone who did the reporting also tell us about their experience. As I mentioned earlier I read in a post of last year Atlantis saying that he didn t get a new KITAP card and only got an ITAP stamp in his passport .

I received a kitap card in 2019 for the unlimited version

Hi All,
I just get my new Unlimited KITAP on this years 2022, which stated in passport and in KITAP Card "date of report" 2027,

Thanks @donovan to share your experience,
So the next 5 years report just in Local Immigration only, without Ditjen Jakarta Approval again such renewal progress.?

but what confuses me ; why on your passport stamp stated "date of the next report" while on your KITAP card HAVE expiry date..?

hope there're experience stories from others who also hold unlimited KITAP and have reported it after 5 years.

To make it more clear for all of Us

Thanks

Hi Vroy,
Can you please let me know how long did the process take for your unlimited KITAP to be approved after the biometric? I have been waiting for my husband's unlimited KITAP approval from Ditjenim for 6 weeks now. I'm getting agitated as the lady who did the biometric told us that the process would only take about 2 weeks.

Only 6 weeks... Im waiting 3 months. Just contacted ditjen via their online chat, and after checking, they told me it still in process 🤷🏻‍♂️

If you're able to get to DitJen in person, it can help. When mine was taking a lot longer than I'd been told, I rocked up and politely asked. I commiserated with their workload (poor darlings...), but asked if they couldn't just pop up and check. Half an hour later, I had my passport and KITAP in hand. The officer had rifled through the stack and grabbed mine. A bit of the personal touch can work wonders.

Visiting DitGenImmigration in person non covid turning in paperwork, told to return in 3 days, next day had a call it was complete and could pick up.

Covid period and submitted by local Immigration. After 3 months of no signiture sent email asking the normal length I should wait for signature. Signed that day according to local immigration.

In 2020, October, I think it took 2-3 weeks for my lifetime Kitap to be done after photo/biometrics in Bandung. Was originally told 5-7 days, I think.

In that case I guess we are just going to have to pay Ditjenim a visit ourselves as it's still in process everytime I asked them. Hope you'll get yours soon
