Quarantine back to 7 days starting December

Exactly, they are better off preparing for the wave and getting it over with as soon as possible IMO.

That would be too easy and logical.

I often wonder of the hotels that are mandatory for quarantine use, who are the investors? What hotel wouldn't cherish 100% occupancy for extended periods of time prepaid? Someone(s) are raking in some cash.

Yes, but if they also own hotels in the rest of the country, especially Bali, I think they would gladly give up the Jakarta quarantine reservations to be fully open for tourists. But as long as there are closed borders I'm sure they are enjoying those rates.

Also it's difficult to get normal guests when people know that the hotel is full of quarantine guests too. There is meant to be a strict separation between the two, but this varies by hotel and in any case cannot be 100% effective as viruses can travel around through AC systems, service staff, corridors etc.

Yes and No. It depends on if the hotel is certified to be a quarantine hotel and if hotel goers do any research on where they will be staying.

If the hotel is a certified as a quarantine hotel, then there is rightfully a concern from regular guests.

No if they don't have the certification. A friend of mine owns a hotel not too far from Grand and Plaza Indonesia. Some of our other friends have made a comment about wanting to quarantine at his hotel, but he has said every time, they can't as his place doesn't have the certification/designated as a quarantine hotel. From what he has told me, his place is still going steady.

What I have noticed when looking for different quarantine hotels apart from the list from the website, if they were certified, they had this:

I mean there is a difference between quarantine hotels. Of course many hotels do not have quarantine certification, and no-one could stay there to do quarantine because they couldn't get the QR code. Each quarantine hotel has a certification, but not all quarantine hotels are the same, different design, different staff, small differences in implementation.

I wonder if anyone who chose which hotels were for quarantine have any financial gain through ownership?

There are HUGE differences in the quality of food provided; I speak from experience!

Looking at the food pictures, I wonder how hard it is for somebody with diabetes to control the glucose without too much medication...so much white rice, fruits, breads/kue...I guess some hotels probably let you order food or bring food from the outside (more diabetic friendly foods, sugar free biscuits, lower GI rice, etc)

Definitely. In Manado a few hotels/resorts which have the quarantine certification have submitted us regularly special requests for people with special needs. It's usually the high end hotels/resorts though.

Okay, just an update on what it is like entering Indonesia and quarantining.

PCR Test: So far, it is still 72 hours before your flight(calendar day, not 24 hour clock).

Flight was on Wed, wife and I had no problems there. Upon checking in at DFW, we were asked to show the pcr tests, quarantine hotel confirmation, vaccine certificates, and Peduiluindungi when checking in. Other passengers were asked to show them at the gate(probably had a connecting flight). Simple, easy, and straightforward. Always make sure you have plenty of copies.

Flightwise DFW to Tokyo Narita to Jakarta was apart from a 1 hour 20 minute delay at Narita. Arrived at about 1am.

Upon arriving at the gate, you go as normal like you would go to immigration, but they have different check points where you show all your information. You get a ticket with a QR code on it which is used at the PCR testing. Arrive at the PCR testing site 1, it goes fairly quickly where you show them everything once again. Do the PCR test and they say they will let the hotel you are staying at what your results are in 1 hour. No need to wait around at the airport for the tests. This was only recently changed this week according to the hotel rep. Head to immigration and there is another PCR Testing station, but no one was there. My guess is depending on the time of day, it will be used. Had another check point right before immigration and they asked to scan the QR code from the ticket you will have received earlier.

Immigration, baggage claim, and customs are the same as usual. Once you exit, there should be a hotel rep there with a sign and they basically confirm everything. You get a picture to show a rep from the hotel is there and you are going with them. They have you fill out some forms there and they lead you to the taxis. The quarantine hotels have a deal with Bluebird so this was the longest wait. Finally got a taxi and the hotel rep keeps your passport and you get it back when you finish your sentence, I mean quarantine.

Hotel check in was fairly easy too. They took up to the car park and there is a special check in center there. We are given the food menu and shown to our rooms. Where my wife and I are, we are in a block and we are allowed to leave the room to use a microwave and refill our water bottles. We can't order GoJek or Grab for food.

At some point in about a week we are supposed to get our second PCR Test. We haven't heard anything from the hotel about the one we took at the airport so no news is good news.

How to apply the PeduliLindungi ? Just make a account and put it the covid shot record? And how many days the quarantine now? Thanks

Download the app from your app store and create an account. I have screenshots and pictures of my vaccinations from Indonesia and the J&J from Texas. Right now, quarantine is 10 days, but this is subject to change.

It's 14 for some countries and some are even banned (unless you have kitas) e.g. from UK

I flew in last night and this was my experience. I landed just before 6pm and was in my hotel room just before 8pm - so 2 hrs in total including the taxi trip. The airport was really empty due to me flying on 31st/ 1st Jan (I hate NYE and usually choose to fly this day as most airports are pretty quiet). On a busier day Im sure that would take a lot longer - I walked past a LOT of spare seating areas on my way to the first check point.

I believe to find the PeduliLindungi app in the PlayStore or Apple Apps you first need to change your phones location to Indonesia.

With kitas 14 days. But no B211 etc
If you live here you can enter with quarantine
